Petrov turns down one year deal

he scored some great goals for us and had some great games too, unfortunately for us he didn't relish the physical side of the game. if he had of done he would have been a city legend.

all i would like to say is, thanks martin and good luck in the future.

I'd be quite shocked if we have genuinely offered Petrov a new deal. We wont get 10 games out of him. Let him go on a free this summer i say, and bring in a young player that we can mould into a superstar.

Think we've got our left hand side sorted for the next few years, I hope in a way that Adam Johnson gets enough games next season and we still have that white elephant robinho to come back ?
Johnson is a good prospect but he's not a nailed on starter, looked lightweight and faded badly at weekend. Not sure he has enough in his tank to occupy a starting place all season.

Saw him on Saturday getting out of his 4x4 with I presume his brother (wearing Petrov's shirt!!). He is quite arrogant and didn't have 2 secs to spare for the fans. I think he was sulking - no change there then!?

the enigma that is petrov, great going forward, one of the worst going backwards.
the only player that can lose a 90/10 tackle in his favour.

gave us some terrific wing play though

Probably the best true left winger I've seen play for City. I would have taken him for another season but with him getting on and picking up more injuries and not playing it easy with his contract then it's probably for the best that he moved on

Nice one Martin you were a joy to watch, all the best

if he only could tackle....so near but so far away

Petrov has all the attributes required to make a quality left back mate
Couldn't agree more.

If only a manager had had the foresight and balls to give him a go in his natural position.

Bothered!!

Quality when he could be arrogant and bottled out of 50:50 chances too much!

Until Adam Johnson came along our best crosser of the ball and corner taker!

Needs replacing though!

We shouldn't have offered him a new deal with his injury record, madness, he's doing us a big favour!

I actually liked petrov.

I did too. Scored some good goals for us, but we rarely saw him at his best, and did he ever get told that tackling was an integral part of the game?

Me too. But his season he has been a bit iffy. Not concerned if he goes!
