Read that some bookies have suspended betting on Kyle Walker to win the award as some were bidding upto a grand on him, obviously it has leaked that he has won. If this is the case then who in the right mind has honestly thought Kyle Walker has had a better season than Sergio Aguero? Madness. These awards are useless.

If Sergio Aguero doesn't win it then it really is quite laughable how bad the voting is and will take away all credibility from the award. It's a no-brainer

Betting was suspended at william hills because a bloke in leeds wanted to put £1,200 on kyle walker apparently

If this is true the whole thing is a farce

Sergio is nominated in both categories so he must be at least the 6th best player in the league

So how can someone in the young player of the year be better than him if their not nominated in the main category ????

That's a very good question, and only 1 that idiotic footballers can answer.

I'd guess they were asked to vote on who they believed was the best player, and then who they believed was the best young player. There must have been some who voted Aguero as the best player (hence his nimination in this category) but then didn't vote for him him in the young player category (due to the sheer idiocy of footballers) which is the only way he doesn't win young footballer. As was mentioned, if he's in the top 6 in the league overall, and none of the other 6 nominated in the young player category are in the top 6 overall then, by it's very nature, he simply MUST be the best young player!!!

Richards has being a much better RB than Walker and wasn't even nominated. I don't see how Chamberlain, Parker, Welbeck & Hart were nominated. Hart has had a great season for us and is the best keeper in the league IMO but he hasn't had to do enough to warrant a place ahead of the likes of Yaya, Vince, Lescott, Mata or Dempsey. Micah and Mario and Arsenal's goalkeeper should have been nominated for young player as well. The whole award is a joke, considering Bale won it last year with what, like 5 goals and 5 assists. Tevez had more than 3 times as many goals and more assists than him.

It's a popularity contest amongst footballers, that's the only possible explanation how Giggs won it the other year.
