Phil Foden - 2017/18 performances

Don't see what his age has to do with it? Messi was playing first team football at 17. Foden just won his country a world cup. If the player has the talent they need to be playing at the highest level to improve. The worst thing we could do is say "Well done Phil, now back to the EDS for the next 2 years, but you might get a cup game here or there". Don't have to start him but have him on the bench at the very least so he can start getting some proper football.
Please don’t “interpret” my words.

He is young and he was playing against other youngsters. Foden is now Messi?? Grab ahold of yourself man.

Playing in a U17 tourney is not the Premier League every week, twice a week! That’s not to say he can’t perform with the first team, and where did I say otherwise?

You finally came around with your last sentence, which sounds suspiciously like my own!!!

Think he'll have a lot of opportunities when the fixtures pile up in December/January. We've got a CL game at Shakhtar he could feature in if we've already won the group, league games against Swansea, Bournemouth, and Palace, Leicester in the League Cup, and hopefully (but not likely) a favorable 3rd round draw in the FA Cup

I would stick him on the bench for Napoli or Arsenal and give him 10-20 minutes from the bench if we are winnning as a reward.

Would also start him against Leicester in the cup, I imagine if we progress and he starts all the games in the cup and we end up winning it , it would be a massive experience for the young lad.

I'd start him in the cup as it's a competition that is the least of our priorities and comes 3 days after Spurs and 4 before the busy xmas period.

There will be lots of changes for that game after Spurs and he might as well be one of them to give him a go.

He is absolutely a special talent—likely the best we have produced from the academy—and he needs to be managed thoughtfully and expeditiously. He needs to experience a considerable amount of joy and frustration, from playing at a top level, right now in order develop and motivate him at a crucial time in his career (and in his bond with the club).

Agreed 100%

Congrats Phil. Great talent and seems to have his head screwed on.

Hope he gets to play in the league and fa cup.

I'd give him Yaya's minutes.
