Pep has never ever set out to bring young players through as a priority. His goal is to win games and have them play his way. It's always been as such. However if there are younger players who fit the bill then he's more than happy to play them. He doesn't care for age too much, but he does care for ability and reliability. As has been said, Pep likes young players for the fact they're easier to mould under his 'vision'. But they need to be ready. We've seen last season (with the fullbacks mainly) how damaging it can be to the way we play having 'passengers' in the team. It's the same for youth.
The England youngsters performances this year will go a long, long way, not only shaking off the mental block our senior team seem to carry into big tournaments, but paving the way for their eventual progression into the Prem, and the England 1st team.
Foden was outstanding, no wonder Pep was waxing lyrical about him in the WBA post game presser
i agree with this, apart from Kane and possibly Alli the spine of the team is lacking - Hart has regressed, Jones/Smalling/Cahill are average at best and as for Henderson and Dier...I honestly don't think the Under 17s performance will have any impact on the senior side, simply because the senior side is managed by a dog shit manager and has too many dog shit players, such as Henderson, Dier and 'The Ox' to name but a few.
