Phil Foden to leave England camp

He’s made it everyone’s business by doing something that’s got in the papers. If he thinks he can dick about on England duty and get away with it past the media and social media, and then think it’s nobody else’s business, then he is as daft as he is unfaithful. Forgiven as a footballer, but a David Silva of a man he is not
So a young lad has dropped a bollock and you are judge, jury and executioner ? Can he not learn and grow as a man or are you not giving him that chance ?

On reflection I realise my posts have been very negative and very abrupt on this thread and pretty dismissive of Phils "reasons or mental state" by fellow posters but we have all suffered betrayal in our lives and it makes you very strict and confrontational on personal views of infidelity so my apologies. My father with a bird at work to my mother was my experience. Tore my family apart. Hence why my emphasis is on his poor mrs and baby. I imagine fellow blues have had their run ins with this kind of thing too and also been affected. My question now though is as punishment goes the club and country can not really do anymore than tell him he's an irresponsible fool and fine him but what do blues actually wanna see done because there isn't really much more can be done? From a personal standpoint he is a City player and that is about as far as my support now goes for him. I love City and will support him in our colours but him personally no. Don't get me wrong I loved Phil because I thought he was a genuine down to earth lad and being a blue he was living the dream we could all only imagine and he was "one of our own" but this, nah.

agreed.

No just that I don't believe footballers are or should be some sort of saints that have to follow some sort of moral rules set by the tabloid media !
He has personally fucked up and he will have too sort out with his family and club, but that's his business.
Also if you feel so hurt and betrayed by this, are you to stick morals and boycott ?
It isn’t just to do with morals; there’s the health aspect of it too. He could have endangered not only his own health, but that of the entire City - and England - squad too.

And no, I won’t be boycotting City. Foden is one small part of a team I have supported for more than 50 years.

Seems that us and the rags have properly bollocked the pair of 'em. Not schoolkids, but you'd think that on joining the squad avoiding this sort of thing is spelt out loud and clear. Phil will get the much tougher time of the two. For as long as I can remember - going back to the 60s - City and United players have socialised together.
