Hmm, there's lots of ways to do the same thing and I'm not really sure what you are asking? :)

Sweep's face colour was changed using a combination of HSL (hue saturation and lightness) and levels.
Glauber's face the same again and the heal brush
Hughes' face was the same again again and the clone brush.
Plus lots of other little tweaks.
