Just went to see Nadine Shah at Piccadilly Records andf grab a signed CD. Haven't been there since I was at Uni' in 2001. Cracking place. Weaved with Mancunian connections and music.

Nadine Shah has a stunning voice. I highly recommend her.

Back to the topic, Piccadilly Records is laid out well, bursting with viny and CDs. A proper independent dealer with a great following.

Any memories of the place or live events? I used to frequent Vinyl Exchange as always found it cheaperr and had more demo releases etc.

Used to buy my concert tickets from there.

I can still picture the little grey cards in the window with the artist’s name in red ink.
Man, they were the day, every Friday after work, straight down to the right hand window, and every week in the 80's seemed to be a cracking band on, U2, Tear for fears, Dire Straits etc, fiver or a tenner for the Apollo, or for another tenner catch the coach to Birmingham, plus you could guarantee you got a ticket.
Unlike today when a 30,000 ticket venue sells out instantly and your paying over a hundred quid to sit at the back.

Bostocks in the Arndale and the mighty Yanks of course were my go-to places for rock.
When it came to dance it was Spin Inn and Eastern.
But like others I did book a few concert + coach packages from Piccadilly in the days when the biggest bands only played Wembley Arena and the NEC in Brum.

She supported Depeche Mode on the recent UK legs of the tour. Not bad I thought.
