Piccadilly Records since '76

Met Johnny Marr in there, talked to him about music for about an hour. To the point where I had to make my excuses and leave haha, he's like an encyclopedia and can go on forever

Bostocks in the Arndale and the mighty Yanks of course were my go-to places for rock.
When it came to dance it was Spin Inn and Eastern.
But like others I did book a few concert + coach packages from Piccadilly in the days when the biggest bands only played Wembley Arena and the NEC in Brum.
booked coach return and ticket for Led Zep there...Knebworth 79....bastards fecked off in the coaches before the end of the show...

You learn something new everyday

Did you not know it as Yanks? The Yank sold it on to the guys who changed the name.

Piccadilly Records: When in Piccadilly itself, there was a manager called John, and we got to know him well. Early days of bands releasing live VHS tapes. They were feckin expensive, and couldn't afford many, and he used to let us borrow some for a week at a time. Top bloke.

Bought JIMONE by James from there around 1985. Still got it. I'd buy fanzines from there too. The 80s were fucking ace.
