Pictures of your Dog

I feel for you, but he is still with his pack and loving every second, we tried massage and heat pads when Oscar started slowing down.
Thanks mate, I kind of think like that, in that he’s with his pack still, he’s always been a lazy sod, so don’t think he would be too unhappy with staying at home and in the garden, but the vet seems to think it’s likely a nerve that controls the left side of his paws (he’s not bending them and has scraped his claws down so that they’re bleeding) possibly caused by a disc, she’s said no point really in having x-rays and scans to find out as they wouldn’t operate at his age anyway so just rest him and see how it goes until Saturday, tbh it has got worse every day, but still I’ll give him as much time as possible.

Sorry to hear that mate, my Golden Retriever had disc problems at 11 1/2 had the op but never recovered. Our previous Beagle had 9 ops mostly to remove the lumps and bumps they get,he also had half his jaw removed at 11 and lived a full life till
14 1/2 .They say that anything over 10 are bonus years for pedigree dogs, so 15s a great age but it doesn’t make it any easier.Hope you get as much time with him as you can, he’ll let you know when it’s time.

Thanks mate, he’s actually from the Beagle rescue society, but he’s probably got some Labrador in him, he was quite a bit bigger than the Beagle I had (he died of liver cancer 18 months back, and true to Beagle form, despite that, was still sniffing and running around tracking stuff).

Tbh though, I think it’s his time now, he’s hardly got up today, managed to walk him to the park but I’ve had to carry him back, his rear and front left legs are really struggling .

This is Lottie, our latest failed Guide Dog. She's an 18 month old Retriever/Shepherd cross and replaces our previous girl we lost in January.

Had to chuckle to myself when you say failed guide dog, I just gave an image of him refusing to go down an escalator and the person going flying!

She’s adorable mate, where I live they do a lot of the guide dog training so see / chat to them almost every day, I always thought Retriever’s were the most suitable breed so I was surprised to hear it’s Labradors.
Good luck with her .

Been there, “the Beagle” was a bleedin nightmare for it, I’d be here all day recounting the various episodes, but there was one in particular (well two in a short space of time) which just ended his off lead stuff, didn’t get them back until he was 11, when I could run faster than him.

Sorry for your loss, I’ve recently had to have my 15 year old Springer put to sleep (he had a stroke last month) very sad having to let him go.
We do have a 6 month old Sprocker/ Springer or could even be a Pointer, we don’t know as it’s another rescue dog.

Sorry for your loss, the new baby sounds lovely

And your sides would split with laughter!
