Jesus, how long is that tongue???? Never seen one that size before.

Think of it as deployable radiator. All the heat built up that doesn't escape because of the thick coat pours out through that big pink thing. See how it's hanging down the side? That's so the dog can still breath in cool air, and breath out hot, as efficiently as possible. Not very good if the tongue is warming up the air coming in, and is made even warmer by the hot breath going out.

And as I said. He’s perpetual motion. Doesn’t stop running so he needs it to keep cool.
