Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Navas is 30 and he runs like a whippet still and as they get older, if they are smart, they will adjust their game
But it's EPL, it would be hard here when your pace is gone. Especially when it's your only strong side, even if you have some experience. He's not a finishing type of striker to be still banging goals at thirty+.

If we want to build a team not only in a short term, I think we will have to either buy players of a younger age or sign some experienced players to strenghen the squad like Pep did with Alonso at Bayern. I wouldn't mind us signing a tall striker on the bench, for example, coz now we don't have one. I know, I know, Pep's philosophy, hispanicization and stuff, but more options and versality is never bad, especially when it's about having a striker who can fight for balls and win them, especially in EPL. A like of Negredo who has also been great technically, would be a perfect signing.

I still don't understand where he would play; surely he wouldn't take Aguero's spot and I dont see Pep reverting to a 2 upfront formation, so perhaps on the wing? but Aubameyang is most effective up top. I think the squad has more pressing needs, like a proper dynamic Right-Winger and a CM. But to repeat what has become the mantra; if Pep wants him I want him.

Already confirmed Navas is staying so i suspect we might go for other areas we need to address this summer, can't do it all in one go

Fair enough, I admire Navas' workrate but I feel he is, unfortunately, too much of a one trick-pony. I wonder where this leaves Sane? Either way, one can hardly go wrong with the Bundesliga POTY, I just would've thought that there where more pressing areas to address.

"£65m-rated Borussia Dortmund star " WHAT?

Yeah he isn't worth anywhere near that amount, especially at 27. We could sort out two positions with top quality (for their age) younger players for that money. Plus, he might be able to play wide but he's primarily a striker and Aguero is first choice in that position at a similar age. If we're going to spend that money it would get us Griezmann, who's better, younger and more of a natural wide player while still being able to play centrally if required.

"It would get us Griezmann" not necessarily since he's not looking to move and Atleti isn't trying to sell, plus he has a huge release
clause. Meanwhile Auba is worried about BVB's direction with a couple of big players leaving and looks like more to follow. He might actually want to leave too if he isn't satisfied with BVB's answers.

I've heard Griezmann's release is somewhere between £50 and £60 million, not any real difference considering he's 2 years younger and has proved his quality both at Champions League level and in a better domestic league. Looking at Atletico's wage structure and how well they've done holding onto players when bids came in previously I doubt he'd be any harder to get as well.

rumours a few weeks ago were that Griezmann was about to sign a new contract that will lift his release clause to 100mil euros(link below)...Aubameyang might be the better option and easier to sign as rumours are he already thinking of a move....

Rumours are great but if we were in for him and he was up for it he'd hardly sign a new contract that would cost us around £55m after tax, would he?

And if you read Aubameyang's recent interview he really doesn't sound like he's pushing for a move.

Auba's interview where he's worried about the direction of the club really doesn't sound like he's nailed on to stay with BVB. While Griezmann might be headed to a new deal with a crazy release. He's also a lot happier at Atleti than Auba is right now seeing more of his class teammates headed for different challenges. So far Dortmund is only reloading with prospects instead of proven quality, if they don't step up their recruitment to make a serious challenge for a Pep-less Bundesliga he might look for a new challenge with us.

He sounds like he's really bought into the club to me. Whereas according to rumour, Griezmann has been offered a new deal, but there's no noise about him signing it yet and if he was siging it, Atleti would be making plenty of noise.

I think he's been waiting for Simeone decision
