Almost there.
Have I got the wrong end of the stick here or am I right in thinking that these a women who have been vain enough in the past to spend thousands of pounds on breast implants and are now finding that all is not as it seems, are being a wee bit cheeky in expecting us to pick up the bill to not only having them removed but also to have new ones put in?

Well it's a bit harsh that some dodgy french company started using industrial grade silicon leaving the woman witha chance of complications if they leak in the future.

Then going into administration at the first sign of trouble.

A lot of these woman will have saved up for an op and can not afford to pay for another and as it is a health risk, I dont think they should have to pay.

As their body is already being operated on how much extra would a lump of silicon be to put back in as they remove the dodgy one at the same time.

If they asked for a £100 quid or the cost for the silicon bag that would be fair enough, as the biggest cost to the woman would be paying a surgeon to do the op in the first place.

Bollox

Why should the tax payers in this country pick up the bill for those who are well off and have such low self esteem that they think they need bigger tits to look good .

I dont have a problem if the implants were fitted for medical reasons but if just for cosmetic reasons then they should foot the bill themselves .

Plenty of people in this country are refused medical aid because the drugs are deemed too expensive and they have to find alternative means of funding life saving drugs

Not all the implants will have been for cosmetic reasons. Some will have been for reconstructive surgery following proceedures such as mastectomy's.

The Nhs will prob see replacing them now while there are no complications as a cheaper option than incurring extra costs that go with replacing them once they leaked and put lives at risk.

Had argument about this with other half unless the woman had the implants for medical reasons then no we shouldn't have to foot the bill imo

...and it all went tits up!

harsh-its not all about vanity from women. some women need adjustments .....but tax payers footing the bill ....its worse the poor folk are footing the bankers/traders dept too!

i m sure the claims are made through the government to make the cosmetics folk pay out in time.

Sorry, JOTS beat you to it ...

It's nice to see the Private Medical Sector trying to wriggle out of this, they fitted them they replace them, if it means they go out of buisiness that's too bad, I can find nothing more odious than businessmen who have previously made a profit appear on TV wringing their hands, capitalism is all about taking risks, you win some you lose some

Forgot about mastectomy's, I would have no problem with these cases whatsoever.
Vanity tho, the Jordan influence, I do have a problem with.
