You know,Pitch patrol ?
Pitch patrol ?
The first rule of pitch patrol is: you do not talk about pitch patrol! You know,
Pitch patrol ?
What like the programme with those dogs in.Pitch patrol ?
Is there an age limit mine are 24 and 22 and would love to do that and I wouldn't mind missing 10 mins ?Pitch Patrol is where the kids do a lap of the pitch with Moonchester and Moonbeam just before the match and then join in for the team photo after the line up. It's different to the mascots. When the mascots come to the line up you will notice around 8 to 12 kids stood in position for the team photo, normally to the north of the line up. Once photo taken they bring the kids out to one of the lower exits where you re-enter with them through your normal gate to get to your standard seat. I think all junior citizens can enter a ballot to do it and sometimes there are kids that join via some other competition. They send you a digital photo via email and a physical photo in the post. No cost for any of it.
The day starts just over an hour before kick off where one parent accompanies the child to the city@home building. There is a briefing then kids are taken to the pitch area where they practise their position in the photo. Parents are taken to the North West corner of Level 2 to watch and you collect your kids outside after. You will miss around 5 to 10 mins of the match as you return to your seat depending on where you are at the ground.
Mine really enjoyed the experience.
I think it was only open to junior citizens (which itself is 0 to 12) with a lower age limit of 5 years old for pitch patrol. Is there an age limit mine are 24 and 22 and would love to do that and I wouldn't mind missing 10 mins ?
The ball boys are (I believe) all drawn from academy lads for the last few years. The days of kids of ordinary fans getting the gig seem to be a thing of the past. Which is a shame. What like the programme with those dogs in.
Seriously though what is pitch patrol. Is it the old style ball boy.
Years ago it used to go to local schools or junior football teams. Shame that it’s not the case anymore. The ball boys are (I believe) all drawn from academy lads for the last few years. The days of kids of ordinary fans getting the gig seem to be a thing of the past. Which is a shame.
Reminds me of Rodney and the groovy gangIs there an age limit mine are 24 and 22 and would love to do that and I wouldn't mind missing 10 mins ?
Paul Todd mateI remember some kid in full City kit used to run around the Maine Road pitch for ages before every home game, Paul something his name was, I think he was the official mascot. I'm still baffled to this day why he did it.
Paul Todd mate
He shot down low to Joe's left.My youngest son remarked yesterday when he saw the youngsters lining up for the team photo, that it was vastly different to when he, as an eight year old, accompanied Joe Hart onto the pitch and scored a penalty against him back in 2011.
