I expect that none of them ever thought that this kind of thing could/would happen to them. While I could understand the PL maybe including this in their investigation as it ultimately didn't get judged on at CAS due to time-barring, the payments were in 2012 and 2013 in respect of the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. UEFA FFP existed then but CAS ruled it was time-barred. However, Premier League FFP didn't even exist until the start of the 2013/14 season so surely that post-dates those payments, hence meaning that from a Premier League point of view there is no case to answer on this particular issue?Interesting that UEFA didn't even present transactional evidence to contradict MCFC, ADUG, E&Y, or Etisalat. Moreover, they didn't even allege anything improper about the source of Etisalat's funding.

I imagine the likes of Lawton and Ziegler, amongst many others, have been digging relentlessly since the PL charges were announced. The fact that this is all they have managed to come up with makes me more confident than ever that there is no smoking gun. It’s just a rehash of the UEFA charges, and I expect us to be cleared again.
