PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Exactly. All done by those who now want a rush job at the tribunal.

The law doesn't work like that.

People study for at least seven years to know how it works.

We have cunts here who think a GCSE in English Literature is a passport to being Ironside.

I got a C in Lit, BTW - never stopped me being a journalist, either!

So you are a CLit.

But yes, it's no coincidence that Delaney wrote that bizarre piece recently that if we are found guilty on Etisalat, then that would show a pattern of behaviour for Etihad. It's utter nonsense and reeks of desperation if all they can hang their hopes on is Etisalat.

What do you think the alternative was to "signing up" to the PL rules was once the other clubs had voted it in ?
I’m not saying there was one. On the face of it, the clubs probably thought dealing with issues in-house was a good idea. I expect that none of them ever thought that this kind of thing could/would happen to them. I would like to think that this whole episode might make some of them think differently, and join City on wanting independent regulation.

Interesting that UEFA didn't even present transactional evidence to contradict MCFC, ADUG, E&Y, or Etisalat. Moreover, they didn't even allege anything improper about the source of Etisalat's funding.

This really doesn't get off the ground at all. Good luck to the PL trying to attack Etisalat's operational activity.
Also, just a thought here. While I could understand the PL maybe including this in their investigation as it ultimately didn't get judged on at CAS due to time-barring, the payments were in 2012 and 2013 in respect of the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. UEFA FFP existed then but CAS ruled it was time-barred. However, Premier League FFP didn't even exist until the start of the 2013/14 season so surely that post-dates those payments, hence meaning that from a Premier League point of view there is no case to answer on this particular issue?

I imagine the likes of Lawton and Ziegler, amongst many others, have been digging relentlessly since the PL charges were announced. The fact that this is all they have managed to come up with makes me more confident than ever that there is no smoking gun. It’s just a rehash of the UEFA charges, and I expect us to be cleared again.

do we expect a response from the club on being accused of something in the media again though?

Lawton on Talksport now….sounds like a fucking snivelling prefect trying to impress the headmaster.

Brazil to be fair to him said even if it’s true it’s only £30m, it was over 10 years ago now and they were just trying to catch up to the established elite & he doesn’t agree with FFP.

Lawton sounded gutted when Brazil said I don’t think Pep lies in bed awake at night thinking about this does he.
