PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Useful starting summary to that - as far as I can tell:

9 charges, 7 upheld.

1 cancelled - not considering the basis the club had worked on using similar systems/penalties (e.g. EFL penalties for FFP breaches). The 6 pts is broadly in line with EFL guidelines.
1 cancelled - not cooperating - because the club weren't accused of it.

All the actual financial ones were maintained.

I don't think this decision will have any real bearing on our case. Seen a few people express concern about the legal mistakes that have been made but I'm sure any similar errors against us will be ripped to shreds by our legal team. Besides, anything that undermines the credibility of the commission might not be a bad thing from our perspective.
Erm….

I will bet all my money I have that our legal team have used phrases and words that masters has never even heard of, let alone spell.

It’s all intertwined.

Premier league
Commission/tribunal
Appeals Panel

Who pays for it all? How independent is it?

Either way, it looks very amateurish. You could argue they don’t know what they are doing.
We don't need to argue they don't know what they ate doing!
They really DON'T know wtf they are doing haha

Or if they insist that the time bar bollocks is relevant. Just ask any rag what did they think of Brian Robson acting as the rags ambassador in the far east. Aiding in the Selling English clubs, promising them players from the rags academy. Telling punters it's a lot cheaper to buy a team not already in the Premier League. Then when the team purchased gets promoted to the Prem, the new owner asset strips the club and leaves that club broke. Even purple nose was involved but only telephone conversations were heard. One of these punters was seen having a meal with him though.
How this hasn't been brought up before is astonishing.
This can all be seen on a Chanel 4 documentary program called "Dispatches" from 2011. Also article in the Telegraph by Luke Edwards 17th JULY 2011 at 11-00pm title " Brian Robson caught up in foreign ownership scandal"
I am hoping one of the brainy gang on here would know how to pursue this matter and get it out there.

Spot on ! The Dispatches team set up a "Sting" whereby they invented a Far Eastern Businessman supposedly interested in buying an English Football Team. He was introduced to a secretive organisation ( let's call it Doug and Dinsdale's "The Gang" ) who could introduce established English Football Clubs that were "for sale". If my memory serves me correctly I think Crystal Palace and Sheffield United ( amongst others ) were mentioned. The price being quoted was £20 Million .

The Gang's "plan" was precisely as detailed above. The Gang seemed to be headed by a certain Brian Robson and meetings were held on Manchester United Premises. Sir Alex did indeed feature and suffice to say The Gang did appear to have very close connections with our illustrious neighbours.

Whilst it is not clear how much "business" had already been conducted, the key issue here must be that under Premiership and FA rules it is forbidden for one club to have material connections or influence over another club. I would also suspect there must be IHRC and Company Law implications.

Needless to say, whereas this programme should have elicited a cataclysmic response from the Football Authorities
and the Media - it did not. The predictable response was -Move along now -Nothing to see here ! There was - of course - a very similar (non) response to the Magnier / McManus 99 questions.

One wonders why the football authorities and the media - who must have very much aware of what was going on - turned a blind eye to The Gang and their activities. Of course, Sir Alex, Robson and their entourage are still in place . Will Scruffy Jim cleanse the Augean Stables ( sorry - a classical reference ) - I hope not !

Iirc, and I may not, I don't have the handbook to hand, you can appeal the IC decision on any grounds. Everton, however, accepted the breach, but contested the sanction.

There is a next process in front of a really independent tribunal where the arbitrators are chosen by both parties, like at CAS. I think this is the one that can only be activated on very limited grounds, one being an error of law.

Which is why I am surprised they used the "legal error" wording in the finding. They have set a precedent for legal errors on their very first case ....

Or this could all be bollocks. :)
Could Everton now claim the whole approach ( avoiding use of the word process) of the PL is unsafe and irrespective of their admissions then all sanctions specifically those which impede on their results to date must be totally overturned
