It’s noticeable how no journalists are engaging with him & yet they do with each other all the time.
Because he is a total laughing stock within the industry. Nobody has been giving him work in good faith for a long time, but he used to be able to get the occasional column on City for the MoS to drive some clicks.
Even they’ve now fucked him off and left him having to try and hawk around his blog as a revenue source, but again, nobody is going to subscribe in good faith, so he has to go for the click bait audience by posting about City.
It all just underlines the general sadness of the guys predicament - he desperately wants to be seen as an ‘expert’ on football finance, but there are plenty of others, doing the job better than him for free, so he can’t monetise that in good faith.
He can’t write about other topics as he’s seen as a laughing stock and nobody will give him a platform, so again, he’s stuck writing about City as a potential avenue for monetisation, but then people like Stefan show him up on the big stage so he has to lash out like he has and try to paint Stefan’s evisceration of him as a performance for the masses and he has the real truth behind his paywall…
As Stefan says, the stuff about his personal life is completely unnecessary, cancer is a fucker and will affect most of us in some way in our lives. I would hope that anyone with a friend or family member afflicted by cancer in the past or present would be understanding enough to not go there.
He gives more than enough ammo to attack his more and more desperate sounding message without stopping to his level and attacking the messenger.
