Of course they don’t do that and yes to a degree you are right about clubs that signed up for it but like any rule it has to remain fit for purpose and ok many agree FFP was never fit for anything it certainly wasn’t during COVID so they changed the rules. Clubs lobbed for the length over which a transfer fee could be amortised so they change it. A
The £105 million upper limit was thought fit 10 years ago but my argument is that the massive increase in just utility costs could never have been budget for I believe , you clearly don’t, that the £105 million of allowable equity should be increased . It’s not as if many owners couldn’t or wouldn’t fund it.

Fair enough. I have said before that I think the whole thing should be scrapped at PL level, as long as there is some control over owners and debt and the UEFA requirements still apply to European competition.

I just don't see, logically, if the purpose of FFP was to instill financial probity, why the limit shouldn't impose more financial constraint when there is inflation. More financial probity is presumably better than less no, particularly in uncertain economic times?

Same with Joey Barton on his podcast, says it’s well known in football circles we inflated sponsorships to circumvent FFP and we voted for more strict financial limits to stop Newcastle/Villa etc joining us at the top table. The fact January's transfer window spending was 84% lower than last January should tell the PL that what they are doing is choking the bandwidth. Which dribbles down the slippery slope to the champ & leagues 1&2 who’s clubs will eventually start to hit financial icebergs due to the lack of money in the game
