PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Which is exciting also to go again.

I am intrigued as to how we are going to negotiate the charges and build a world class squad again.

Hate us losing but apart of me is reinvigorated with what’s next?

All have done a magnificent job but we must now put all that aside and go again.
When i was working we re set our career clocks to zero every New Years Eve.

No credits.

No debits.

No long service or seniority status.

A clean, blank sheet for everyone.

We all had to start afresh.

It kept us sharp, honest, humble and hungry.

A lesson in life !!

Soriano is CEO of CFG, not CEO of Manchester City. He isn't running City when he's in New York, in continental Europe, or anywhere else CFG has a club.

He's the CEO of Manchester City. He has both titles. But he actually runs City on a day to day basis and spends most his time at our offices. Roel De Vries runs the day to day at CFG who also spends most of his time in Manchester.

Here's City's entry in the Premier League Handbook which is authored by the Club Secretary at each club:

I agree fully with your last two paragraphs and likewise it will be great to see what and who Pep and co can bring in.

They decided to build and fund a £300-400m stand and complex but decided not to buy any players? And bid £100m for Rice (for example) for a laugh whilst telling Pep there was nothing to worry about?
We didn’t bid for Rice this summer. And the investment in infrastructure could well have been seen as a priority. Financial resources and senior management time is limited.

Has to be a reason why we didn’t buy anyone. My theory is credible.

That doesn't seem realistic. Khaldoon doesn't manage the club, let alone the football side of it. Soriano and Begiristain decide what to spend and who on.
I doubt that’s the case ultimately. They will decide day to day, but if the big boss rings up and says no…

The saddest thing for me is the first time in my lifetime there is lack of individuals with real Manchester City connections. I get football clubs are businesses, but I'm bored of hearing about CFG. Maybe part of our problem is the finances and resources of the group are spread to thin. I'd love owners whose sole focus is on our club not other clubs who have no link to Manchester. For me our owners global ambitions have been put ahead of heritage of our club. Fans who have supported the club for a long time have been put to the back of the queue. The club has become a mirror image of everything I hated United and Liverpool for. If we are found guilty I suspect the Premier League and its member clubs will be pushing for changes in our ownership. The club is at a crossroads. They need to make sure they don't lose a connection with us so called legacy fans. Peoples patients was being tested by the way we are treated by the club even before the poor run started...

Well we all know who is to blame then.

Soriano out? -:)

Also don’t forget we allegedly cook the books so who knows what is really going on and who runs what.

Why would this Summer be the key? The case has been ongoing since Feb 2023 and for years before. Unfortunately the reason we haven't bought enough is far simpler than the charges
