PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I had a quick delve last night into the posting history of the guy who made this claim*. Couldn't be arsed putting in much of an effort on Christmas Eve, but for what it's worth, the conclusions are below.

He's not a frequent contributor but definitely seems a committed Blue of long standing. My guess is that the chairman he references is Daniel Levy, mainly because posts commenting on a potential transfer to City for Harry Kane a few years back, as rumoured in the media, seemed to hint at knowledge of the situation beyond what was in the public domain.

If it is Levy, then he in my view has every motive to continue to the bitter end to take this line in private to anyone who'll listen, whatever the truth. He'll want pressure to be on the PL to use any available avenue of appeal if the current proceedings entail a better outcome for City than he suggests. Meanwhile, if the final result is similar, it leaves a suggestion of City getting away with it that the client media will happily amplify.

I agree with Stefan in that the soft signals at the moment all point one way. That refers to matters in the public domain that might be thought of as indicative but can't, given that we don't know for sure what the evidence is, be regarded as conclusive.

* - To the poster himself: sorry for subjecting you to this scrutiny. However, you didn't offer any real evidence of your good faith or otherwise, which is important for others with this kind of post. This type of research is therefore the natural step to enable us to assess that.

Anyway, thanks to all who've contributed interesting and insightful posts to this thread in the last 12 months. Let's hope that we're now relatively close to the end and it's an outcome we on here can be satisfied with.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas to all! Mind how you go.

Happy Christmas matey. Hope it's a good one for you.

Does anyone else think that every £m spent in January would be a positive indicator on the 115 swingometer. The need for players is screamingly obvious but the club must be acutely aware the IC Panel are in decision mode. Would the optics of a £100m splodge be too risky ?. In which case it may be Pogba on a 6 month contract. On the other hand if the club are super confident about the 115 outcome they could go for it big time, make a statement signing, even pay over the odds for the right players. For once, and at last this won't be done behind closed doors with the fans left constantly guessing wtf is going on. DEALs or NO DEALs....

We’ve either breached the rules or we haven’t.

Our transfer activity will have no effect on the outcome whatsoever.

The three wise (and still anymous) men/women of the IC must have had a couple of weeks pre hearing (at least), the twelve week hearing and the two weeks post hearing to hear and absorb all the evidence. So they have been immersed in this for over four months. Let's call them KCa, KCb and KCc and imagine a chat between them.
KCa "Have either of you forned any sort of inkling how this will pan out re decisions?"
KCb "You know, I haven't got the foggiest idea, I mean both sides presented very credible arguments although highly contradictory. I feel like I need to reanalyse all the evidence again, I just can't make up my mind".
KCc "Me too, Im completely baffled by the complexity of the arguments and find it all rather discombobulating".
KCa "That's such a relief, anyway the most important thing is we remain anonymous and follow due process with absolute precision, btw did you notice City have just spent £150m on two worldies"
KCb "Really ! that's swayed me, busted on all 130, send em down to the Vanarama.
KCa "Yes, Up the Arsenal !'
KCc "Good old Arsenal, we're proud to sing that name, while we sing.."

Had a conversation last night with a fan from another club who speaks regularly with the tea lady. She thinks City will be punished but not with all the charges but enough to be demoted from having Fox's and McVities biscuits and Yorkshire Gold Tea to having to have all our refreshments from the Savers range from Morrisons. I can't name the tea lady or the club involved.
Well. That takes the biscuit.
