PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

My upstairs neighbour came by the other day. He told me he wasn’t happy with me living in the apartment building.
I said why? He said: I’ve written down a 115 complaints and they go back 8-12 years. Here you go.

Just imagine …

My stock answer to the constant mention of 115 is 'We feel your pain". If they go on, I say "We know what it is like to have no success, we went through three decades of it, so we know how hard it is for you, especially when you have been so successful...in the past.'

Nearly came to blows with a gooner pal after he used the word cheats, we need this sorting out quickly

It's not worth getting so heated, theres nothing us fans can do. These type of people (your mate) will still call us cheats when we are cleared. No different to when CAS cleared us, we still get called cheats.

I use to get very annoyed about the CAS, it was making me ill. This along with other things in my life didnt help.

Nowadays I'll just say we arent guilty and leave it at that. I dont get involved life is to short.

I just spend my time enjoying being a City fan at this fantastic time of our history.

Golden rule, dont allow football to ruin a friendship - its very easy done,so find another mutual topic that doesn't involve such emotion or evoke such anger.

The red shirts in particular are very good at dishing it out but they cannot handle the comebacks......years of self entitlement and having things their own way without restriction or competition has created this cuntish behaviour.

The only cheats are those that expect financial gain because of history and preferential treatment from refs and var on and off the football field.

They only call us cheats because their bent rules have not worked and we got the treble despite their best attempts.

All day long. Some wanker scouse fan down in the smog (certainly never been a friend of mine just know of him from pubs) threatened to "fukin kill me if I ever mention his team" on Sunday night. I had literally said fuk all and what made him even more chicken shit is I was just sitting down outside with a visibly broken arm in a plastercast. Deciding to take either the official or unofficial response route.

No don't ignore them. Agree with them with a wry smile. Boils their piss so much more.....

You've agreed with them - no arguments.
They go away even more fuming.
We get exonerated in future (They'll still call us cheats)

They're trying to get under your skin, get under theirs.

It use to really piss me off and to be honest it did affect my mental state but do you know what I don't give two fucks what they write and say,I can't affect the outcome of what happens and I will just leave it to the club to deal with and now the bitterness and hateful shit written just makes me smile because we all know how much we are ripping the soul out of other supporters and long may it continue,we have had a wonderful time on and off the pitch and iam 100% sure the club and its loyal supporters will have the last laugh...keep the faith, keep your sense of humor and enjoy the salty bitterness we are causing..enjoy your day fellow blues...

Hmmm, depends how much you value it. I'm happy to jettison a couple.

I know it's not quite the same but I'd sooner be guilty of committing 115 offences when breaking rules that should never have been in place, than be reliant on Atwell and Tierney (aided and abetted by Coote and Webb) to keep my club relevant.
Yep - that is the real cheating; every single one of the PL era titles that united won should have a huge fuck off asterisk next to them

Excellent advice Ballo - it pretty much sums up the way I feel too.

The only thing is to remind them none of the allegations have gone to the panel yet …the kangaroo has not yet convened its court - so nothing proven at all.

That’s what I do. I usually throw in, “imagine if we get away with it” as well.
You can actually see the cogs trying to start spinning……

I'm talking close friends......politics and football are generally no go.
I agree entirely with your sentiment but find it much more difficult in practice to avoid the subject. A few Christmases ago I disagreed with some very dear friends on religion. It started with a silly difference of opinion over a Tesco or Sainsbury's advert but soon became very heated. Fortunately my wife brought in some tea and Christmas cake and dragged us apart. Since then I have avoided the subject like the (biblical?!) plague, but it is difficult because faith is such a central part of her life and she wants to talk about it. With football it's much more difficult because for many it really has taken the place of faith and is central to so many lives. I'm fortunate that our friends love the game more than their team, which is, unfortunately, United for many of them. They all admit freely that City are much the better team and it's what goes on on the pitch which is important. But they all seem to accept without question that City are guilty of 115 (unspecified) charges and I can't sit there and take it. I reply mildly that City are my team, our owners are an example to the rest of football, unlike some others, I trust them absolutely and I know they have not violated any rules, however unfair those rules are. Friends think I'm naive but nod and say OK and change the subject - but it only takes one who gout out of bed on the wrong side or had a row with his wife and the powder keg goes up. And after Saturday and the last 15 years NOBODY accuses my club of cheating.

Just as an aside, I loved the fact that Lord Pannick stood up the the House of Commons yesterday and slagged off the Government and Labour for pushing through the amended right to protest bill ,through the back door. He also told Johnson to do one when he saw the facts behind the enquiry!
I know he's defending us for the money (one of a couple), but I like to think there is an element of anti establishment in him. (I know, I know)
