PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Finally, finally....an in-depth look at what Everton's defence was and how ridiculous it became. It's an article on the Telegraph site, won't link as you need a subscription, and it shows that Everton had lots of assistance from the PL for a long period to ensure that they didn't fail. They ignored it. They then came up with increasingly bizarre explanations after admitting they had.

One of the most outlandish ones, it actually defies credulity, is that they should be allowed 10 mill off because they didn't sue a player who had been investigated for child sex offences. Although never charged or named he is no longer at the club but their case was that if they sued him it would affect his mental health. The panel decided they would never have received that money under any circumstances.
Rooney!

Wonder if they included us for calling a game off, cost them millions!!!!!

Its funny how Stefan is now a quoted expert on the 115, yet if I remember rightly he said City would get off at CAS and no one, nick harris included, quoted him then. Indeed the ping pong cheat from the Times said all City supporters were rats before the hearing. Unfortunately Stefans views on this fit with the medias hopes and so they have jumped on them. As in all memories I could be wrong, again;-)
I was thinking exactly the same thing about him suddenly being quoted. Reading Stefan's posts/tweets/explanations along with PB's posts/explanations on the CAS stuff was a real eye-opener.....they both tried to stick to talking about the facts of the case and managed to keep the emotion out of it.

As you say BlueM it's funny they didn't give Stefan the time of day on CAS, but now they've suddenly cherry-picked a (unfavourable) narrative from him without adding the context - and he's being quoted everywhere on it.

To paraphrase what I've read from Stefan over the previous months (and apologies if I have any of this wrong) he's always said that these are serious charges and if proven could lead to serious sanctions, maybe including relegation. And those are the key words he's always used....if proven. But....he's always said the bar on proving these charges will be set high. And he's always said that it would take an almighty conspiracy involving the club, auditors and owners to arrive at the situation of the PL charges.....and he's always said a conspiracy on this scale is highly unlikely given the people and companies involved. But those parts, which offer the context, don't fit the media narrative. So those parts don't get reported. And that sums up our media sadly.

Keep posting Stefan (and PB) as they certainly help me to understand the bigger picture.

Thought I’d wait to post this, but the ONLY conclusion that can be drawn from the Everton penalty is that IF we are found guilty of a majority of the significant charges, then our penalty will most likely be more severe.

That’s it, in a nutshell !

My favorite thing about hearsay in times like this is you never hear them saying “I met this bloke while having a piss in wetherspoons and he said that city will be fully acquitted!”. It’s weird that it always seems to be they’ve heard exactly what they want to hear! Mad that.

Anyway bring them on the cunts, even if they relegate us to Sunday league i’ll still support city, Till the day I die

First time ever Scousers have admitted guilt, accepted responsibility and took the blame for something.

Well and truly backfired but sadly it's Everten and not the other lot!
Scousers guilty? Surely not, absolute cunts, not many locals attend the Dipper games, feel sorry for the Toffee fans, different class.

I’m surprised Evertons punishment is as severe as it was, it seems ridiculous to me that breaching ffp results in a bigger sanction than some clubs have had for going into administration and that makes a mockery about any of it really being about sustainability.

There’s absolutely nothing to read into it about us though. Evertons was a clear cut case, as is Chelsea’s tbh. All it tells us is if we’re found guilty of all the charges, then we’ll face a huge punishment, which we knew already.

The rhetoric I’ve seen on social media today around “city and their fans must be shitting themselves now” is all from morons. There’s no reason to be shitting ourselves any more or less than there was yesterday. We’ve got very serious charges against us that are both very difficult for anyone to prove and highly damaging if someone can, as they always have been. That’s it. There’s really nothing much to say about it until the judgment comes.

Aw poor Everton, as ever the media pretends to struggle to grasp the subtle difference between a 10 year shirt, stadium and campus Sponsorship of the treble winners and multiple PL champions and selling the naming rights of a delapidated training ground to a major shareholders Uzbeki gas company.

Manchester city are not hated by everyone, most people I talk to have nothing but admiration for City and see through the media bullshit
This is very noticable when abroad , i spend quite a lot of time in Spain and invariably when i have my shirt on the talk is about football , none of the Spanish guys i have talked football in bars in Spain even mention the 115 charges , they are admirers of Pep and our football.
The poison is only on these shores when our media ramps up the hate and vitriol because it sells papers and generates clicks ,and whilst the Rags & Dippers have so much influence in our country it will not change , but a new generation of football fan is arriving and they are not buying the red'istree clubs shirts , they are now buying Haaland shirts and admiring Pep and his team, the revolution is coming :)

You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work that one out.

And you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out that no fucking way are these two-bit yanks taking Khaldoon and Mansour down.

We go and the heart of football in this country goes, other fans know the cartel are behind it and they will eventually hate them for it.

If it ever happens I'll take up watching fly fishing, having had my place in the Sun.
