PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

My daughters think Liam is a Legend. Him sticking it to anyone and everyone on twitter who has it in for City just elevates him even higher in their eyes.

I often remind them of my attendance at Maine Road in 96 when Oasis ripped it up. Always goes down well. That's just not fair.........

I don't even remember 'Talkin' City. :-)

There's nothing miserable about my post, old scout. I'm the one who is sticking up for our club. Trying to be positive about what the club is doing.

This is what our enemies want. Blues to attack their own club. It's Manna from Heaven to them.

Of course the club is not beyond criticism and I too think they could have said more about the Istanbul issues, but this is different. When you get into a legal battle of the likes that we are in, you take the advice of your legal team before issuing statements.

If you believe that our club's legal team are making a complete arse of how they respond to the likes of Ceferin in public, then I'm assuming that you won't have much confidence in them defending us against the PL charges, because you seem to have no confidence in their approach.

Manchester City are now governed in their responses to this situation by their solicitors. This is not the time to go issuing statements without their consent.
Why would an independent supporter’s group need or have to seek consent from the football club ?

Our evidence is our audited accounts, possibly Wittness statements saying that is correct and we may provide a bit more context and documentation, but ultimately the irrefutable evidence is our accounts.

It is actually hard to have some proof to prove what you’re saying is correct, when the other party does not believe it. We cannot unveil some clear and concise bit of evidence to make it all go away and the PL say ok, this line run out by opposing fans is ridiculous. We have provided the information already.

However, CAS and the IC (hopefully) will have a different view to Simon Jordan and Big Paul the scouser down the pub as they are not interested in PL thinking there wrong, they will want evidence from them.

Remember the accounts have been verified and audited, why should we not believe they are correct (and let’s be real here, PL have not required anything further from 19 of the other 20 teams other then there accounts).

Here the PL need something, they have the emails which CAS had and the non cooperation but not deemed enough on a lower burden of proof. So PL need something and for me forget that something is the key.

If they have something that reaches the level of proof required, we’re in trouble.

If they have something different from UEFA and it falls below the level required, then we are ok.

If they have exactly the same as UEFA then not only are we ok, but entitled to be truly annoyed that we have had to answer the same questions again!!

I think it will be a mixture of the last 2, mainly UEFA case with a little bit more in there, but nothing ground breaking.
Agree with most of that but my gut feeling is the PL has virtually no evidence. If they had a smoking gun they would have sanctioned us by now. If they had anything significant it would have leaked out to their pals in the media. I believe the so-called investigation is just another attempt to smear City. When you see how weak Richard Masters is in public it is easy to see how he could be manipulated by devious powerful people. The end game for the PL was always about damaging City to keep LFC, MUFC, Spurs, and Arsenal Directors happy.

If anyone suggests that Pep and the eleven players on the pitch cheated to win things, then they're being ridiculous.

When United had twice the revenue of Arsenal in 1999, did their treble mean nothing?

There are fans of Liverpool and United, calling City cheats, despite them having the same levels of revenue City have.

Whatever happens about the sources of that money over a decade ago, there is absolutely no way that anyone can legitimately suggest their team was someone cheated out of titles. It makes absolutely no sense.

Believe me, if City are found guilty it will run down right to the football side of things, Without the money Pep would not have signed the players he has to work with, City won titles cups and the Champions League when really they could not afford to spend that sort of money on their squad

I don't think Lewis technically owns Spurs any more. Passed his ownership over to his daughter from memory.
