You can't blame fans of other clubs for saying stuff like that. First, it's a comfort blanket that everyone likes to have when they are caught out. What about the other guy? Second, they are fed the narrative by the press 24/7 and this is where the real blame lies. The BBC with Roan and Stone are as bad anyone. Their job is to inform their readers, but they just continue the cycle of telling people what they want to hear and reinforcing complete nonsense. It's easy for them to correct, but they aren't doing it.
You only have to watch that fan chat shite with the sky two-twats last week, to see how things really are.
Every fan got to talk their shite, without interruption from either the others, or the twats.
The Liverpool wifey talked nonsense about not spending money, nobody interrupted to say you break prece record after record. The utd guy talked about greatness and shit, how big a club they were, the chelsea fan went on about long term investment, the everton fan waffled on about fuck knows what, just to hear the sound of his voice. Everyone else listened and let them speak, the two twats were generally respectful and either agreed or asked ok questions.
The minute the City fan spoke, Gary was smirking and rolling his eyes, questioning everything. Jamie turned into a liverpool Echo headline writer, that had a few pints. And as a consequence, all other fans saw it their place to interrupt, add their bits, laugh things off etc.
That's pretty much it in a nutshell for me, on a much bigger scale, how the media and as a consequence other fans will look at City just now.
