Seems like loyalty points are getting more relevant. The Rags have to do a ballot because they have 55,000 season ticket holders who are all forced to sign up for cup matches, making all season ticket holders equally eligible for tickets. We are a long long way from that sort of demand and we have a loyalty points system and a non-compulsory cup scheme.

We are talking about the away games here. There are probably around 2000 hardcore blues that would tend to do in excess of 15 away league games per season. Average allocation? 2500-3000 maybe so there will end up demand for the away games.

The fans that do the most games will always be ok, they shouldn't have to fork out an extra £50 though just to stay ahead of the game, they have been loyal enough. It's the fans in the middle, who are on now say 4000-5500 loyalty points who will within 3 seasons be caught up by those who are currently on 2000-4000 points. This will leave a huge amount of fans all on similar loyalty points and fighting for the remainder of the tickets that are left after the hardcore and the Superbia fans have took their share.

Now unless the loyalty point structure goes down in 10's rather than hundreds the only other option would be to put the remainder of the tickets to ballot for the rest of us that don't have 8000 loyalty points or cannot afford superbia.
Think your overestimating the demand for away tickets

I am just going off the amount of people who are going platinum, whats the point of going platinum unless your are going to go to the away games?

We will have far more demand for away games as we are now becoming successful, but fuk everyone who has been Charlton, Pompey or Reading away when demand wasn't high in order to gain a few more loyalty points for the bigger games, you know can just but them and jump ahead in the quewe.

I built up what points I have by attending the not so glamourous games, the midweek cp games and the dead rubber european games. the fans that have less points than me have all had the opportunity to do the same as even last season we rarely sold out our away allocation, but they will pay for thier points than attend half the away games that I will attend but still recieve the same amount of loyalty points for the games attended. With the bonus points being awarded they will earn more loyalty points than me per season but will still attend less games than me. It's bollocks plain and simple

If you're too thick to see what is happening then that's (I'll let you off this one) your problem, we are getting more and more like them pricks in Trafford each day.
You're is what you want there. It means you are. Your is possessive. I do not own too thickness and if I did I'd transfer the title to yours truly as an act of charity. Just thought you ought to know that before you give anyone else lessons in intelligence.

Anyway, some people are of the mind that the importance of loyalty points will increase so the club can cynically monetise them. If there's no return on them then pretty soon people will stop paying. SWP's back has ventured the view that soon buying club merchandise and beer in City Square will also come with loyalty points to encourage sales. This will only work if there's some benefit in getting loyalty points. Therefore, some, quite logically, have to the conclusion that they'll increase in importance. If you don't believe that, fine, and don't go along with it and you'll have the last laugh, but don't call people sad donkeys because using logic they happen to have come to a different conclusion.

Looks like you'll have to sign up to Platinum if you want the extra points then

Can someone confirm that if your not bothered about going to any away games its not worthwhile signing up for a platinum card, so long as you join all the cup schemes?

if you don't want to go to away games then there is really no need to go for the extra loyalty points as the only reason to get points is to attend the away games and cup finals.
