Don't know if anyone noticed last night but it was very apparent that Platt is now pretty much Bob's number 2, only slight interaction between Bob and Kidd yet Platt was involved with every decision that Bob made and he seemed to be the one passing all instructions out to the side.

Can't say I've ever been a big fan of Platt but I have to say that he is slowly but surely winning me over.

As a side note it was Platt and Bob that were together watching Chelsea/Stoke at weekend with no sign of Kidd.

I assume that Kidd is the board's man on the inside whereas Platt is the confidante of Bob.

As long as it works then no big deal but I wondered if anyone else had noticed this subtle change?

I will start to think that when he sits next to Bob,Kidd has that privelige at the moment, and did last night

I know that Kidd was sat next to Bob last night but that's my point about Kidd being the board's man rather than Bob's; there was practically no interaction between Bob and Kidd and pretty much every decision tactically and with regards to subs was after consultation between Bob and Platt.

No.2 in all but title.

Actually felt a little sorry for Platt at one stage last night, he was stood in the technical area and the crowd started singing Mancini, ooooh. Mancini half stood behind him and waved to accept the plaudits from his audience and it looked like he was pissing on Platt's bonfire. Okay, Bob's the boss, but it did seem a bit odd.

I think that's reading too much into it, there's no doubt in my mind that Mancini has a lot of respect for Kiddo. Don't forget that Platt speaks Italian so if Mancini wants to make a specific point it may be easier for him to do it in his native language to Platt.

I can see Platt becoming No.2 if Kiddo decides to retire in the near future, he is 62 and he had a tough battle with cancer a few years ago.
