Have the club given in to a few petulant, chav like players pissing and moaning about the manager these last few months until they got him our? If so, what should have been done about it .. if anything?

Or is this just a smoke screen to excuse the Spaniards for doing something they were always going to do anyway?

My guess would be a bit of both, I think the decision to fire him became clearer the longer they worked with him, diden´t seem like he bought into the "holistic approach".

Him complaining in the media about his lack of signings (or lack of targets) and criticising the board obviously diden´t help, unhappy players in the squad (complaining to the chairman, read it somewhere don´t know if it´s true) and going backwards in the Leauge and CL made their decision easy I say, one thing to keep in mind is the owner always have the final word.

I know. I love him but I was almost willing him to shut up and give twats like Gooner Marwood no excuses.

A bit of both and it is easier to get rid of a manager than a few top players then try and replace them.

I think everytime the manager bemoaned the lack of the signings he wanted,or criticized a player in public the board clapped their hands in joy as it made getting rid of him easier.

In effect he was slitting his own throat right from the word go, last season. Did he think saying players (ie Nasri) put in 50% would endear him to the squad. Maybe he wanted out.

rag

waits

Speaking of rags, can anyone imagine a scum team pulling this shit? Rag players are fired off if they start the stupid antics we've seen from our own players this last fortnight. The club should have kept Mancini and backed him in the summer window just to prove a point.

It´s not like Mancini to keep his mouth shut always spoke his mind, I was sad to see him go though specifically considering that he won us the title, FA Cup and one thing he doesen´t get credit for is that he installed a winner mentality into the whole club but I think sacking him was the right decision to make considering how far backwards we went and he diden´t showed any signs of improving in Europe.

I know we had a tough group but to get 3 points with the squad we have was poor to say the least and with FFP being implented qualifying from the group is crucial for us.

The players need to look at themselves as well, can´t blame everyting on Mancini.

If the Board let players go to them to comain about Mancini then They were clearly waiting for an excuse to get rid of Roberto. That would never happen at Manure or Arsenal.

That said, Bobby should still have played Pants in the final ahead of Joe. Hart seems to have lost the confidence of the Blues where I sit who feel he had a big role in Mancini's departure. Maybe Joe's role in this is all bullshit but if he threatened to leave unless Mancini was sacked the hopefully Pelligrini will bring in a new keeper and / or promote Pants to number one.
