Samir Nasri has rubbished suggestions that he asked Arsene Wenger if there was any possibility of a return to Arsenal.
A report on Thursday claimed the French attacking midfielder was unsettled at Manchester City and had approached his former boss with a view to an Emirates Stadium return.
But in two messages posted on his official Twitter account on Saturday afternoon, Nasri sought to quash any rumours of a City exit this summer.
He initially wrote and then deleted a tweet that said: 'Never ask anyone for a comeback so stop with those silly rumors [sic]'
Nasri then posted: 'Never asked anyone to comeback!! Really happy where i am right now so stop with your silly story.'
The story claimed the 28-year-old was told by Wenger that the Arsenal squad was already packed with enough creative talent and he would be surplus to requirements.
Nasri found opportunities more limited at City last season, though he still made 29 appearances in all competitions, scoring three times.
This was, however, significantly less time on the pitch than his previous three campaigns at the Etihad Stadium, which have yielded two Premier League winners medals.
Nasri played 125 times for Arsenal in three seasons there between 2008 and 2011.
