Sorry if this sounds a bit simplistic, but aren't Gotze and Silva similar types of players?

Neither is a proper winger. Both are creative attacking midfielders. Perhaps Gotze is a bit more direct, but I largely think they are pretty similar (in build too).

So if Klopp can make Gotze work, shouldn't he be able to make Silva work (with some variation of course).

Because otherwise, it can be argued that Aguero is very different from Lewandowski, Klopp's successful #9

Silva is a loyal player. He's always been loyal to Man City since his first day and always rejected a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, when they where interested in him.

Problem is, and the people with a real knowledge about La Liga know this too, that Silva loves his former club Valencia more and is more loyal to them than Man City. Nothing wrong with that cause they are the ones who devoleped him as he came through their youth ranks.

So, he is off. If it's not this summer then next summer. Why would he spend playing at City while his true love are coming back hard with their new owner Peter Lim and have a yound, exited sqoad who can probably challange Barca/Real/Atletico in the upcoming years and also play the Champions League. The Valencia fans want him back, Peter Lim is gonna make a bid..it's all over the press now with even AS, they are mostly right, and the German press reporting it. And not least important, Silva always dreamded to going to Valencia...so yeah, he is off.

Guess who this guy supports?

Not as obvious as you might first think!

There lies the problem. Think Barcelona and Spain in their pomp, That is the type of football this club wants to replicate both at youth level and with the seniors.

The problem? Have you seen the assist rate that Silva operates at? Had we converted an extra 5% of the ones missed he'd probably have the most in Europe.
Fucking problem!

You haven't been paying attention to what David Silva is a capable of have you?

Apologies if this has already been said by others, but haven't the time or the patience to read the whole thread here. I'm 58 years old and have been supporting City all my life, season ticket holder blah blah blah so what? .........
So I've watched Bell, Lee, Summerbee and everyone since and in my opinion David Silva is the best player I've ever seen in a City shirt. The best all round footballer by far, the most skillful, best first touch, best reader of the game. Fantastic awareness of what's around him. Sees the key pass and has the courage to take the risk to play it.
On top of all that ability his character is outstanding and he always gives everything for the team.
So when I hear people in the crowd slag him off for losing possession, because that killer pass didn't quite come off, I want to scream at them that he has to take that risk to affect the game and obviously it's not going to come off every time, like it would if he always played square balls like so many others.
........ and when some accuse him of lacking defensive qualities ........... he's David Silva FFS!
We should all cherish him whilst he's ours and sadly some won't get his brilliance until he's gone. I'm happy to stump up my season ticket cash in the knowledge that I can watch a true genius at work week in week out.

Peter Lim the mega rich owner of Valencia is planning to sign Spanish Dave as he prepares to make Valencia a force in Spain, the press are reporting there excellent relationship with City & recent dealings with Negredo could work in there favour.
