Just seen this ... surely not.
MANCHESTER UNITED trio Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera have all been offered to Barcelona, along with Manchester City's David Silva, according to reports.
The sensational claims are all the more surprising given that Barcelona are currently under a transfer embargo that will prevent them signing any players until January.
But Spanish paper Sport have splashed on the news that Barca are worried about missing out on Paul Pogba and are now considering other options.
Rooney - as the only non-Spaniard of the quartet - is probably the most surprising claim, but the paper say that Barca have been tracking him for some time.
The 30-year-old's game has reportedly developed to the point that the Catalan outfit see him as an advanced midfielder, although they harbour some concerns about the player's fitness for that role.
As far as Mata is concerned, it is suggested that the former Chelsea star is keen on a return to Spain and is well known to Barca's technical staff.
However, despite the offers Barca have reportedly decided that neither player's services are needed at this time.
The same cannot be said of Herrera and Silva however, with Barca ready to offer £18m for the former.
As one of United's star performers this season it seems unlikely that the Red Devils would let the 25-year-old leave for a massive loss, but it is claimed United could sell if the offer exceeds £20m.
The reports also suggest that Silva could be available with City looking to overhaul their squad this summer.
It is claimed that Barca chiefs have already met with City management to discuss a move and hope that they may be able to land the 29-year-old for £20million.
