Another great performance from Spanish Dave, my favourite player. Not sure if I think he's better than Sergio, I just love watching him play.

I posted on the post match thread, it makes me so angry that he gets no protection from the refs. If anyone even breathes on the little Belgian diver at Chelsea it's a free (or pen as we saw today) yet it seems to be open season every week on our Dave.

I hope he finishes his career with us, but I wouldn't blame him if he went home, his ankles and feet must be black and blue every game. You could see the frustration today, he even kicked out after Kane (think it was him) left his foot in late on.

is it me or is Davey getting in to right tasty tackles .... is that a new training thing to his game or just his time in the country developing the mentality to get "stuck in" when you need to?

He's always had a nasty side to him, same as Aguero, I think the best players always do. We just don't often see it. He's a tough little fucker. He's not averse to giving it back if he's spent a while getting lumps kicked out of him.
Nothing was made of it by sky or the pundits, in fact they even laughed when it was shown, but after being hacked down for the 4th or 5th time, he kicked out at the Spurs player who had fouled him. Luckily the ref didn't see it or he would have been off.

I tell my grandson that I was named after him . "Is that right granddad" he asks? Then the penny drops, how can a 70-year old be named after someone who is even younger than grandson's father?
David is such a brilliant player, it's a pleasure to watch him. And I am amazed at his humility when interviewed.
One of our best forays into the transfer market.

I was astonished looking at his stats on the sky sports app - he has 9 yellows this season! I agree he does have that spike to him occasionally but I think 9 is far too disproportionate.

Like VK he seems to be penalised far too often, for one tackle, when he is subjected to 4/5 chopping tackles each game. I'd bet Silva and Kompany have the highest ratio of tackles to cards in the prem. he needs more protection.

Another jaw-dropping display from one of the greatest talents i've seen in a City shirt.

Think it was Negredo who said he'd pick Dave over Iniesta and Xavi to play alongside. He also said when Silva is on the ball it's as if, "time stands still."

Worth the ticket money alone.

My only problem with Silva is that, unlike Aguero, and occasionally a few others, he's never really done it for us in the Champions League.
The best player I've ever seen in games where City are winning and starting to catch the opposition on the break.

It has been a privilege to see this man play for our club. In my opinion the best all round player for us in the modern era. I agree with those on here who say he gets no protection, especially compared to Hazard but Dave just gets on with it. The most impressive thing for me is that when he is off form he still wants the ball and that speaks volumes for his character. 11 goals and half a dozen assists yet does not make the PL team of the season is just another joke aimed at MCFC. Add to that zero off field problems or stupid quotes about our owners, this is a lad loyal to the two clubs he has played for and I really hope we can do well in the Champions League before Sergio and Dave move on. We have a spine that is good enough, we just need those who make the decisions to supplement them with similar players and a progressive manager for next year. It upsets me that the club has wasted an opportunity this season to progress - and by that I mean despite FFP, our buying policy was flawed. Example we should have kept Garcia and spent most of the allowable money on a wide midfielder with pace rather than try and fit Milner, Nasri or Silva into that wide role. We all know that, and our fullbacks were our main weakness shame the manager didn't get that!
