I'd love to see a team built around him, stick him right in the centre and base everything off his movement.

this. He is now our best player and has still 3-4 years at the top in him. Yaya (one way or the other) will not be here the next season and to evolve we have to change and this is the way forward as I see it

Re: David Silva appreciation thread

Our dave is fucking awesome. Only player who looked anywhere near top form today from where i was stood (and that was only for the last half hour when he was released properly). Class goal as well. Really wish we'd play him through the middle (as other posters have said). I think he's our best player alongside Aguero at the minute, so we should be pushing everything towards playing him and Serg in their best positions and then choose the team around that. This is where I struggle to agree with pellers, because Silva simply isn't as effective out wide.

On another note, I wish David would do what he did today more often; he's definitely got it in his locker, he should be trying it every game!

What a player,my favourite ever City player. I always fear he will go to Barca to replace Xavi,I know he has signed his contract but I still think it's a real possibility.

the commentary team I had (beglain and drury) were comparing his goal to Messi's runs and close control.

He definitely has the control to pull it off, finishing is lacking but he should be doing it much more. It helps if you are starting centrally to attempt such a thing though. The fact that he is Spain highest active goal scorer tells us that he needs to be scoring more for us

I definitely agree he could pull it off a lot more for us if he got played through the centre. It would almost force him to sometimes have a go

This and only this. He is clearly our best player at the moment, we must be building the team around him ,to his strengths and not force him outwide. The commentator that i had yesterday was saying this continuosly too, even if we take last season, the few games that David played as a pure no 10, he was absolutely devastating, any other manager would be playing to the advantage of the best player in their respective teams, i am bewildered that Pellers ain't doing it. Even Aguero doesn't seem to strike the right chord while playing alongside Edin, there is no point in repeating with the same predictive tried and failed line up, we must be playing to the strengths of Aguero and David, have no idea when pellers will learn.

I would also add that Spain these days are playing him mostly at #10, whenever he gets shunted out wide for them (mostly for Fabregas) he isnt as good and Spain arent that good either
