City without KDB would basically be, dare I say it, the rags. We'd end up with 0-0 scores week after week. Even in those 0-0 draws we had before, KDB didn't play well but most of the chances we had was the one that he created. We brought in KDB to create chances - score goals and give assists, not to retain 90% possession and be a glorified Michael Carrick.
Yep, my thoughts exactly. Way City's playing now, would be boring as sin without the Ginger King

It deffinatly would be faker withought or second playmaker, our defense already having a blemish lacking one key flemish.

Stats for KDB from the MEN - home and away. Look at the bottom two lines: he's created as many chances away as at the Etihad, they've just not been put away. Of course stats don't tell the whole story, etc etc, but I think there's a more balanced picture there somewhere than the usual one we hear: "KDB: good at home, crap away"

I knew it.

Honestly when I watch us play, without KDB making those risky passes, we would just be passing the ball around with nowhere to go. KDB is exactly what we need in our team. Without KDB taking those risks, yes we would retain more possession but then I'm convinced that we would score less goals and have less chances as well.

You might mention that when he lost possession we pretty much got counterattacked every time. That's true, but we still got counterattacked last year even without KDB. The difference is this year when we're recovering back to cover a counter attack we look like headless chickens. Nobody seems to know where to go. At least when we got counterattacked, KDB would track back unlike Yaya that would just put his hands up to the refs asking for a foul and jogs back.

We did ok at the start of the season away from home with Sterling, Silva, Navas

We look slow and clueless away when we have no pace, irrespective of whether KDB plays

We did OK because we weren't playing any big teams. We won against West Brom, Everton, Chelsea, Watford. Probably only Everton is the only good win.You could also argue that it's very early in the season that other teams still haven't found their form yet. Adding that Kompany was still fit back then.

Yeah little ol' Chelsea?

We still attacked far better.

We stretched teams, giving our Central 4 (ST/10/CM) more space to operate, we pushed back their fullbacks and/or broke with pace.

Doesn't matter who we've been playing away since then, we've been slow and well, crap.

needs to stop the outside of the right foot passes across the pitch. Happens when he has nothing on, he tends to just flick it with the outside of his foot. He's more than capable with his left so I don't know why he tries these round the side passes with the outside of the right, just side foot with the left would do.

Just a small criticism I'd have of him. Otherwise, he's been exceptional.

Yep. His quality is undoubted and it's actually worrying at present how much he's overshadowing Silva. It's almost as if Merlin doesn't like the competition and has decided to go hiding. Absolutely he needs to be given the number 10 role and Silva needs a little rest. Bottom line is KDB is the future and Silva is the past.
correct.
kdb makes AND scores goals.also for belguim, the best team in the world.

Why is Belgium the best team in the world?

Think it's better rephrased as "the team currently on the number 1 position in the Fifa ranking" which is granted not sch a strong indicator to look at. We should try out a friendly against Germany for a better impression.

Oh I see. Well that's fair enough. Didn't realize they were #1 in the FIFA rankings.

not a lot of folk do. i know little of international football to be honest, but i know he is their star performer,on the right side of midfield, scoring and assisting in a remarkable Fashion( rip David)
leaving even hazard is in his slipstream in that regard...yet some on here still think he is an ordinary player, or over rated. They cant see the pure quality from this player we took all summer to sign..because wolfsburg didnt want to sell, didn,t need to, and would have, by all accounts preferred to sell him to utd.
We had to put up with a lot of shit to sign this talented young man, the media chose to ignore him when he signed, didnt highlight his amazing debut performance at palace with his world class passing tearing shreds thru one of the most obdurate teams in the prem on their own ground, and even now,his talent is played down, sneered at by many..cos he plays for the wrong team..and some City fans barely recognize exactly what we have, as he battles to get to grips with the unique game which is found in the premier league...handled correctly, amd hopefully not a burnt out workhorse The KDB should go onto to be our greatest ever player.
The cushioned header from the home teams keeper clearance, which took out three watford defenders and sent sergio in on goal took my breath away.played and watched footy for over 40 years and never seen anything like it....The future is bright.
