He was really decent tonight but we needed a world-class winger like Bale or Reus who can dribble and whip in quality crosses, didn't we? Pointless signing.

Neither of those do what you have said. Bale cuts in from the right hand side on his left foot and Reus cuts in from the left on his right foot.

Oh and as for Sterling absolutely top drawer tonight, he's been great this season 49 million absolute steal considering his age and he fills the HG quota.

Just wish he would take the man on more and stop cutting inside.
He's right footed I think. Hope I am right or I will look a fool. I wish we'd play him down the middle. Wasted out wide. Who is he supposed to pick out with a cross? AGuero surrounded by 3 defenders? Fernando and Toure are on the half way line. Maybe Navas on the other touchline

Criticism is one thing, calling him a coward is another... Pretty baseless in football and a fairly ridiculous comment.

I thought sterling had a good match and showed that he is improving. If not for instruction from the league office we would have likely won it at the death against a side obviously not particularly bothered about winning the match.

Bright future for him.
well if you have a player who pulls out of every 50/50 and never contests a ball in the air I'd say that's cowardly. He was terrible tonight, should have been slung long before he was.

The summer hatchet job has done it's own job now, he's never getting a decision.

Inexcusable to wave that penalty away. There's no one that can convince me that Everton wouldn't have gotten a penalty had it happened down the other end. Admirably, but sadly, he seems to have accepted that.

Much prefer him on the left taking people on than through the middle trying to link passes personally. Also prefer KdB/Silva centrally, so seems win win to leave him left & put one of those guys centrally. We looked far better in the 2nd half when we made the change.

Not for the first time this season looked our most dangerous player, deserved a penalty at the end there which could have won us the match.

I thought he was our best player last night.

Maybe he is starting to feel like he is part of the team now as his confidence looked higher than usual.

I think he looks better in a free role which I thought he got tonight, especially in the first half.

He is wasted just stuck out on the left wing in my opinion.

Loads of times in the second half he received the ball in space on the left corner of their area. Every time he stopped or was stood still when he received the ball and the advantage was gone. He stops and waits for the overlap. I think this is instruction, which if it is, is bollocks. He should be moving at pace or make a beeline for goal. At Liverpool he was a menace in the exact same situations

I can see what you're saying but first half when he was central we were poor and rarely threatened. Second half when he went left we were all over them. He might play better centrally but as a team were are better when he is left. If only he would run at defenders when he's left, whether that's him or Pellegrini I don't know.

I would like to see him take on players more.

Saying that, when he does play left I don't think he is too comfortable going down on his left foot/ left side and down the line so instead he either cuts in or waits for the fullback to overlap so he can go down the line instead.

The best position I have seen Raheem plays was when he was at the top of Liverpool's diamond midfield behind a front two of Suarez and Sturridge.

I think over time when hopefully his end product improves we will start seeing him being positioned more centrally as I don't think he will end up a winger unless he starts becoming comfortable going down on his left side enabling him to mix it up. I also think he may need to put some muscle on as well to make him more of a presence.

He only seemed to go after Stones when the management pointed out how weak he was. Wish he would take on the defender immediately, rather than waiting for the two covering players to shuffle over, but I suppose when you see what happened in the last minute you can understand his reluctance.
