There's nothing in this lads. He was late back, needs to train to regain fitness, and will join the pre-season tour shortly.

He'll be a big part of the team this season—we have three very different options (if Nacho is the third striker) up front: one of the best strikers in world who is almost as tricky as Messi, a powerhouse targetman with ridiculous touch and vision for that type of player, and a pacey upstart with guile and finesse.

I am very optimistic this year.

Via the MEN.

Just hearing that Wilfried Bony is not in Australia as he had a bout of illness and was unable to board the plane.

The City striker was due to fly out this week in the second wave of Blues - those who played in end of season internationals.

But the club doctor said he should not fly, partly because he was too unwell and partly because there was a risk of spreading the bug to his team-mates in the confined space of an aircraft.

Bony is still being assessed as to whether he should link up with the Blues, but will train at the City Football Academy in the meantime.

Makes sense if true and should put some minds at ease.

So disjointed this tour squad isn't it?. Copa America, International friendlies, pointless end of season tours just wreak havoc with pre season preparations. Bony may end up playing no pre season matches, as will Sergio. Not good at all.

Quite right too, those aeroplane air recycling systems are deadly!
