What does Bony offer that Dzeko didn't (apart from the fan boys)? Because I'm struggling to see what we've got here apart from someone who might score less often than what we had.

I think Bony holds up the ball and brings others into play better. Dzeko was surprisingly weak and timid for a target man and it used to wind me up.

Is that really such a bad thing?

Do you mean "well it'd be good to have someone pushing for his place"?

I think his point is that no-one that good will be willing to move here because they know they won't get games.

I really like Bony not going to lie, he wins near enough every header he gets up for, despite what people say his touch is actually pretty good for a big fella (miles better than Dzekos) holds it up well brings others into play just at the minute the shooting boots are a million miles away.

Having said that he's doing a job for us while our main boy is out, he's still hitting the back of the net all be it he should be scoring more but he's a bench striker for us filling in when needed and people seem to be forgetting that.

Keep going wilf i will stick by you fella just like any city player while wearing our shirt. Some fans need to have a look at themselves, the ones grunting at his every missed chance are the bellends that was grumbling every time sterling lost the ball early season just get behind them and give them some time bloody hell.

a sensible and reasoned post at last on this thread , our wilfred has scored 9 goals in 15 starts , not bad for a shit striker who cannot hit a barn door , and do not forget watsisname at the swamp that cost £60m and hasnt scored for 2 months , we could have signed him , maybe we should count our blessings.

We need strikers who will push Aguero...players who play as well as him...players who will make us question if he will remain first choice. Kelechi certainly has the ability. Whether players like Sterling & Bony want to try and do it is up to them.

You're in dreamland. Kelechi can push Sergio for his place? I've heard it all now. He's a youth player who's made a handful of subs appearances against lower table teams. Aguero started a World Cup final and has scored a hat trick against Bayern Munich.

Put it this way: if Kelechi is that good and Pell is seeing him do it every day in training, why is he starting Bony? The answer is he isn't that good.

There are a handful of players in the world who would push Aguero for his place. Be realistic. You're talking about spending £50m on a sub who could be a starter at a champions league level club. The player will not come and much as people don't like to believe it city do have some financial constraints.

Agree. Especially on the Dzeko comment. Having bony means we can properly hold the ball up up front for the first time since Balo left.

We are lucky to have him as our second choice.

Nacho is a promising youngster, but I really don't get what City fans have seen so far that make them think he's ever going to be in Aguero's class.

Yes thats what i mean and with agueros injury record and our lack of option up front he'll get plenty of games, plus we need another worldclass striker anyway as we can't rely on aguero alone to supply the goals with his injury record

He'll never be as good as aguero but he has the potential to be a top premier league striker like sturridge imo

I agree it would be nice, i just think that a player of that standard isn't available and would be restrictively expensive. Who are you thinking of?

Bony's form since the Sevilla game (Stoke apart) has been good. He was pivotal in us topping our Champs League game and Bony is on a goal a game run at home over the last course of months.

The problem for many Blues is that Bony is not Aguero. That certainly seemed to be the case for the group of pensioners behind me on Boxing Day who mixed Wilf throughout the game. The reality is that a fit Gerry Craney is better than an injured Aguero, never mind Bony.

Yes it would be great if Kun was banging in the goals in in an injury free season but some of the Bony haters need to wake up! Maybe if we got behind Bony we might see the guy who was terrifying defences for Swansea!
