Reckon it's true - why say it? Leaving now would only make him and Yaya look even more ridiculous than Cakegate.

Because City are getting lowballed by Inter and calling him "unsaleable" actually increases his value

He won't be here next season. I can't believe any of you would believe a single word that his agent ever says.
Well we'll just have to wait and see won't we. Personally, I hope he's staying.

Hard to take anything this guy says seriously tbh, not enamoured with the news if true. As important as he has been for us we need to move on, sooner rather than later. If we are getting a long term replacement in but keeping Yaya on as well to help the transition, then that's fine, but if we are just delaying and hoping we can squeeze more out of him or are expecting any more from him than he's given this year then it's a dangerous game.

I think Seluk is full of shit and he'll be gone by July.

I agree mate.

This is just a "we aren't going to slap in a transfer request, so if you want rid you need to drop the asking price".

Why is it unthinkable to keep him around whilst we bed in the new Yaya ? We'd be absolute clowns to bin all that talent and experience !

All I can think is that people haven't got over the cake incident !

hope its true, chealsea utd arsenal,,never mind half of Europe will be gutted if he stays at city ,says it all really

If that were true then why didn't one of them come in for him? Because they know he is past his best. Yes he played reasonably well yesterday but one game doesn't make a season & his legs are gone, he is trying to put himself in the window but it hasn't worked so far. I hope that the news that he is staying is wrong & just his agent playing his usual games.

Well I'm going to be the contrarian here. Yaya is one of my all time fav City players and I don't believe he's 'lazy', his legs can only do so much.

But IMO it's a mistake if we keep him and it's short-term thinking instead of long-term strategy (hey, that pretty much describes our transfer strategy in the last few years). There are ALWAYS replacements out there. Sometimes you need to buy two players and rebalance the midfield, but there is always a way. This is our last chance ever to get a decent fee for Yaya and it + the freed wages could be used on some excellent emerging midfielders.

The 'we can't afford to sell [ageing veteran]' argument is a sentimental one IMO and ignores that there are brilliant midfielders out there who may not be as unique as Yaya but could possibly bring other things like the hard pressing we're fatally lacking in European games.

Nail on the head as ever LC. As if the world is going to collapse if we sell Yaya.. Ever notice all those teams consistently dicking us in the CL without a Yaya Toure in the midfield?

Cake-gate was never the problem for me, it was the whole "City denied me the chance to see my dying brother, even though I went to Qatar instead of visiting him."
