That's my point though mate, it's been an awful season for him on the whole. A couple of cameo moments of magic but for the most part what we saw today is what we've seen this season. If he has got something wrong with him then as a club we've dealt with it terribly. Allowing him to be the main man in a midfield 2 when it's patently obvious he isn't up to it is where the problem lies. How would you fix it though? At our current position we're kinda screwed.
We've seen how Milner is playing at CM, not exactly dominant either, and Lampard after the whole "He's a city player, he's a NYCFC player screwed his focus, and not fit enough to be our main man."
Fernando is at this point clearly not trusted, and this leaves us with very few midfielders.
The whole midfield situation seems to be a last solution come summer, where we'll be sure to fix the problem.
