Robert Hopkins - what a waste of space. Paul Lake's autobiography gives him a special mention. Paul says he got on with pretty well everybody, with one exception - Hopkins. He was a nasty piece of work, treated the younger players like dirt, and everyone was delighted when he left the club, apparently.

He wasn't even a good player. No one's perfect, but Hopkins was a real scumbag, says Lakey.

Ralph Brand from Rangers. Think his first game was a friendly against Dundee at Maine Road. We lost. If i'm not mistaken it was Joe Mercers first game in charge.

He had 2 seasons at City,first game was Dundee lost 2-1.Joined in the summer of 65 was Joe's first signing,I remember the day he signed I was outside Maine Rd with my autograph book and got his signature it was the summer school holidays.

Interesting one that? when exactly did Gleghorn leave? Obviously he was signed for the start of the promotion season in 88/89 but I remember him playing in the opening home game against Southampton after promotion the following season (lost 1-2) he may even have scored actually?
