Players Cars - Best and worst

Asa Hartford drove a Triumph Stag in the mid seventies, now that was a footballers car.
I'm sure Mike Doyle drove an Opel as he had a dealership selling them in Bardsley.
Kenny Clements had one with dual controls, easily the worst.

The players did get SAABs when they were our sponsors, used to get a lift home from Steve Mckenzie from Platt Lane training to Withington. Couldn`t wait for the end of training for the drive home talking about City.

Rodney Marsh had a Jensen Interceptor that was ser-weet! Had my pic taken with it with Marshie. In the olden days, the players used to park right outside the main entrance at Maine Road (players entrance was just to the side of it) when they showed up for training, so it was free rein.

Used to get all kinds of great pics when I was on my school holidays. Even got my pic in the Pink with the players getting on the coach for an away match. Someone was giving me a staged autograph for the picture. I think it was Denis Law's first game after he came over in the 70's.

I seem to remember Ford Capri's were pretty popular at the time. I used to live, and travel to training at Leeds Utd, with John Lukic (keeper who later went to The Arse). He had a fancy Capri and pulled some talent in that thing!

Not sure if it counts but SWP's Custom Trike was pretty cool
