Players getting clobbered

The tackle on Aguero was a disgrace, he was kicked to high heaven and it's piss poor refereeing to not give him a red. At this rate a player is going to pick up a bad injury, look at Silva v West Brom, Pulis brought on Yacob to kick the shit out of him.

What I am pleased to see with our side is that we give it back to them when they try it on. With Sagna and Kolorov now along with Mangala and Kompany the back and Yaya in the middle, we have a team that doesn't take any shit as well as a team of quality.
This for me
It was a good old fashion game of footie brilliant to watch I'm buzzing me tits off for the whole city family
Heads held high again all week
Come on you blues

For me the difference between mangala's tackle and Dann's is that Mangala aimed low and took the player cleanly out at the ankles and looked in control of his body. Dann on the other hand wasn't in conrol as he went lunging in, was reckless, dangerous and aimed to get aguero's knees. I thought it was a red

You can`t tell me you havn`t seen players walking for a challenge like that before. Some of the clowns we have as refs could well have shown the red.It was a blatant tackle from behind ... something which is outlawed.I didn`t say it warranted a red I said he was lucky it could quite easily have been.

It was a trip

That's why I said earlier he could have no complaints if it was red but I'm not sure his intent his was to g so high
What are you on about? The ball had gone. It was intentional, reckless and dangerous. A clear red card.

His intent was to bring the player down, same as Mangala's intent, his execution was poor, Magala's wasn't. That's what I'm on about.

I thought it was red ,only because kun was attacked knee high ,mangos tackle was nothing like that.

I wouldn't agree with 'hack'. Maybe it was more than sticking his leg out, I'll conceded that. I think Aguero has probably been hit harder, unfortunately this one caught him in a bad place. Hopefully it's just a knock and he'll be OK for Tuesday.
yes ,somewhere inbetween a hack and sticking his leg out ,that should cover it :)

But intentional which some refs (as we`ve seen over the past couple of weeks .. think Liverpool/West Ham) COULD have given a straight red, for a tackle from behind.

Well some refs would be wrong then, the tackle from behind that gets a red is when the tackler goes through the back of a player's legs, not a trip.

As a few posters have said, it's great to see a team spirit of "kick us, we will fucking kick you back for hurting my comrade"

A total opposite of our players reaction when Roy **** did Alfie

Mangala seems to have helped this spirit.

Yaya should never have made that tackle, it should have been a straight red all day long. He was further away from the ball than Dann was! He shouldn't have lost his head. Could have ended up causing us a problem and possibly not the win. Chill Yaya.

Judge the tackle in stages;

It was cynical and from behind = Yellow card

Caught him late = Yellow card

Was reckless = Yellow card

Caught Aguero knee height = yellow/red card

You could even make an argument that Dann uses excessive force.

In was a red card every day of the week.

If anyone on here actually bothered to read the laws of the game available from (Fifa.com) it's quite obvious that the challenge on aguero should have been a sending off for 'serious foul play' under law 12. The interpretation of this law is shown on page 128, which is page 130 of the pdf document:

It endangered the safety of the opponent and it was a one footed lunge from the front with excessive force and brutality

The first 3 criteria of the guidelines were met.

Yaya's challenge was deemed reckless by the referee, which is a bookable offence. He acted with disregard to the dangerous consequences but wasn't using excessive force i. e. wasn't in danger of injuring his opponent.

The referee also saw Dann's challenge on Aguero as the same (page number 119, 121 of the off)

Compare a reckless challenge with serious foul play.
