Players not applauding the fans

turn it round, at coms who stays to applaud our guys off the field instead of fucking off early to avoid the traffic. been at most home games this season and the empty seats at full time is shit. why should they if our home fans cant give them the same respect ?

the away games we always stay to the end, but id say about a third of home games we leave around 89mins. its a shame, there are thousands who do it now because the council and police keep the cars parked in.

saturday night we have plans, leaving 3-4mins earlier means we get in about an hr earlier than we would when we stay.

if i didnt have better things to do on a saturday night then i would stay and clap the lads off and sit in traffic for an hr, but i do!
Same here. I work 60 hours a week and at the end of every day I go round all the wards and clap to all the patients. It's the least I can do . They are keeping me in a job.
I've tried applauding the guys who keep me in a job. Unfortunately, with me being in the military, they're Taliban & every time I try to give them a standing ovation they shoot at me. Ungrateful bastards.
After reading all the utter shite on this forum since Wednesday night these posts actually made me LOL.

Cheers lads.

Slightly off topic but what used to annoy me was when the attendance was announced, and people would applaud themselves for going.

It was an ironic cheer to the birmingham fans

No i'm talking about at Maine Road or CoMS mate. The tannoy guy would announce the attendance and people would stand up and applaud themselves! Just found it a bit odd to be honest because why applaud yourself for doing something you want to do? A lad who I used to sit near in the Kippax used to get irate over it, it used to really anger him that folk were clapping themselves!

Their job is to play football; our job is to support them. Silva plays well pretty much every game yet we don't even sing a song for him, ever! We're the ones who aren't keeping up our end of the deal in this instance. Everyone milks singing Tevez songs but when you actually listen to them they aren't Tevez songs they are anti-United songs. Tevez even commented on this himself around the beginning of December saying something like we need to forget about them lot and concentrate on ourselves. Again we're the ones not doing what he wants us to do when he plays well on the pitch.

And what is it with us at home?! From about 82-90minutes onwards at least a sixth of the stadium fuck off no matter what the score is! If I was one of the players I'd assume the fans don't give a fuck. 2-1 down against Everton at home, we were struggling to get a break and go for an equaliser and this is the exact time we need or support the most and thousands fuckin do one. Great stuff guys!

If the traffic is that much of a concern to so many, why don't they just walk to Piccadilly and get the train home? It's funny, but there's such a desire to be at one with your own fans during the game, then as soon as we get towards the end of the match, it's every man for himself and they'd barge your granny in the face to get out of the stadium first.

Chill the fuck out, this isn't Cairo, boys.

I usually leave my seat as the game goes into injury time and go to the back of the stand. If there's a stoppage in play I'll sprint to an "entrance" nearer to the exits. Dont miss any of the game but helps to get away earlier. There must be a few thousand of us at the back of the stand during injury time which will make the ground look emptier than it is.

Personally I cant abide all of this clapping of the fans, badge kissing, obligatory declarations that "our fans are the best in the world". Its all fake. As long as the players give 100% thats all I'm bothered about. I havent the slightest interest in them trying to demonstrate some sort of relationship with me as a fan.

You'd have been a bit pissed off in the 'olden days' then as the players never did it at all.

Game ended and they trudged off the pitch with nothing more than a firm handshake for the opposition.
