Players that stayed too long at lesser club

Yes they were but that definitely wasn't us. Think the only comparison was we both played on Wythenshawe Park.
Think a mate of mine turned out for the Wythenshawe one back in the 80's?
Ha fair enough, think they had quite a few ex City played for them in the past, Ron Healey in goal, Frankie Carrodus, a mates brother who was ex Chelsea (amongst others) turned out occasionally for one of the top teams too, that league was littered with ex Pro’s in the top teams, a great watch if we weren’t playing.

Who was the mate if you can say ?

Were The Lantern before they switched to the Royal Oak. When Sunday football was at its peak that team they had was virtually full of ex pros or current semi pro players. Don’t think it would be exaggerating to say if they were a Saturday team they’d probably be something like Conference standard.

Absolutely was mate, if we played near those side (The Grapes being another) we used to have to send someone to get our subs who’d fucked off to watch them instead, even our manager at one point haha.
I remember the Lantern after that still being an excellent side.

There’s a good chance Kane will retire without a single medal.

Shearer also one that’s not been mentioned.

Harry Kane doesn't have a single senior trophy to his name.

No matter what he shouldn't sign a new contract, then when 2024 comes around he has to sign for a team best placed to offer him that.

Only issue is, he is 73 goals short of Shearers record. He won't do that he 2 seasons, so he'll probably have to go on a free transfer to Chelsea or Liverpool or Us (us being less likely with Haaland).

If he doesn't value that record, or thinks he can come back at 35/36 and break it. Then he should go to Real Madrid or Barcelona, maybe Bayern or PSG but the German and French league may be frowned upon.
He’s already missed that boat. He’ll be past it by the time that contract expires.

Meant he stayed at lesser clubs.
Never took the plunge and committed himself to a top club.
Your list is long but his list of night clubs is even longer.
I'm not sure any top club was ever after him - he was one of those players who was brilliant on his day, but could also disappear (into Night clubs etc) and so he was too much of a risk for those who wanted to win leagues.

It was Dobber Reid. But thinking he might have played for the Lantern
