This, now I know it coincided with a very heavy drinking period in my life but Beardsley was a home town club hero (Carlisle) there was talk of him joining as a player coach right at the end of his career which is why I was looking at his wiki page and when I had seen he had played for us I was dumbstruck and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't even remember hime playing at all or anybody in Carlisle saying "I see PB is signing for City" they were all over me when we signed Lee 'fucking' Peacock who was utter shit for Carlisle.
