Players who just completely lost it

The most notable for me though is Ronaldinho's fall after the 2006 World Cup. That guy used to be untouchable, but since 2007, he just fell away completely.

awesome player, I seen him score the goal at #2 in the compilation

Probably best player I have ever seen live!

Although that Aguerro debut performance had me thinking - oh my god!!

Nicky Weaver never fulfilled his potential, though he was never quite at the same level as some of the players who have been mentioned.

Injuries hampered Weaver. He was a class goalkeeper who would still be in the prem now had it not been for injuries. With the problems in goal England had before Joe came along i think Nicky would have got a fair amount of caps had he not got injured.

Looking through some past England U21 squads, my God... the wasted talent. Not world beaters, but should have fared much better in the game than they actually have done:

Matt Jansen
David Thompson
Francis Jeffers
Danny Cadermarteri
Julian Joachim
Darren Eadie
Leroy Lita
David Nugent
Jon Stead

I'd also suggest Alan Smith. Shite after signing for the rags. Beardsley and Clough for us too, but were far past their prime by then.

matt jansen had a very very serious motorbike accident so understandable.

Probably not a very well known one but Vince Hilaire for Crystal Palace. He was god for a season or two in the 80's....in Palace circles at least....

What was the name of that mongol we signed from the rags?
He was brilliant and then turned into utter shite

Do you mean Mongolian? Can't think of any mongolian players to have ever played in the prem?

i think he meant mongrel, i fucking hope so anyway.

Michael Bridges. Hot property, moving for £5m (a big whack at the time for someone his age) to playing in League 2 in the space of 6 years when he should have been in his prime age wise.

Sad for him; does remind me of what they used to chant at Leeds though when playing Sunderland:

"Thank you very much for Michael Bridges, thank you very much, thank you very very very much".

Ooops.

He's another one who's been battered with injuries so not really his fault. He's probably grateful that he's still playing to be honest

Common theme here appears to be Arsenal.

Forgot all about Adriano. At one point he was one of Europe's best strikers, the potential to be the best, and then I think his dad died and he became depressed and ever since has struggled with his weight.

Cleverly
Smalling
Jones
de Gea

Let's face it, they should all have the league comprehensively wrapped up by now.

EDIT: My bad - turns out they're getting the trophy off SKY after the Blackburn game, tomorrow.
