Players who might improve us

He wouldn't have provided us with nothing different to what we currently have if he stayed. Benfica was a good club to really test him playing for one of Portuguese and European giants. Failed to make any impact there.
We will never know now but its obvious that we left the squad too thin.
Its painful watching players like Gundogan, Ake and Stones struggling for fitness and reflecting on how good they were in their prime.
A few younger players that can run for 90 minutes is what we need at the moment.

Have we got a buy back clause for Morgan Rogers?
I reckon there is a high chance Rogers is the next player to be bought for 100m+ in the PL. strength, technique, ball carrying, dribbling past players, 190cm tall. With a contract at Villa to 2030, if you want him, your going to need at least 110m minimum.

Unless he has some kind of Delli Ali/Rashford attitude issue, he is going to the very top.

Would have the same limited game time that he has been given at Benfica.

We need PL players in January not got time to bed in players
Obsession with PL players is what will stop our progress.

We have historically done extremely well buying OUTSIDE the premier league, and we get much better value for our money, which is important, because we need as many bodies as we can bring in.

I don't mind a player every now and then within the league, but its not a practical long term strategy when we need to replace like 8 or 9 players in the next year or so.

Whilst I see your argument, the only players that are achievable are players that are like Nunes, Phillips etc...

We've been linked with Evan Ferguson.
He's promising, but he'd cost big money (relatively speaking) and his record, both injury wise and on the pitch, isn't great.
Same with Branthwaite at Everton. Good player. Would cost a fortune but has been injured most of the season.

Player who may want to come; Isak, Guimaraes, Kulusevski, Gordon, you would suspect won't be moving in January.

Possibly but thats one of the positions we are crying out for.
What we need at the moment are players who can stand in as a replacement for our ageing squad members who are having persistent injury problems.
I'm not advising buying a " Yan Couto/ Kabore" but the fact that we had them here and then let them go seems to me to be a bit reckless.

I'm not for bringing on a lot of younger players wholesale but one coming as a direct replacement has to be beneficial.

It is finding a more suitable younger players who can actually thrive in our set up that is the catch especially with the current crisis in confidence that is engulfing the club.

Being honest getting a proper left back may help with options in central defence. It might be worth a risk to get either Chilwell or Tierney in this window if they are injury free. I just hope we try and get some in this coming window as it's like the news coming out is another injury in a key area if Haaland goes down to an injury screwed up front. The kid coming from Argentina in January what we do with him will he be out on loan straight away or joining in with first team. Our signings from Argentina have been really good over the years fingers crossed we got another here
Would probably end up need both with their injury record. Maybe with our players who can play multiple positions we could him get just the one and still be ok.

Maybe we could do some sort of pay as you play deal.

Think they are the right type and quality player but we never go for injury prone or older players
