Players who might improve us

all true mate but slightly frustrating that we dont want to sort our obvious weakness of LB out asap?

It's a strange one, because for years we've had an issue there but yet it's not ever really cost us. 4 league titles in 5 seasons with Delph, Zinchenko and Cancelo at LB (a bit of Mendy in there but don't like to mention him). Ake has been very solid defensively and this season the overwhelming problem has been the balance between attack and defence more than any single position.

You can take an isolated game and feel like a "proper" LB could have made a difference, but I'm not sure it really would have. The Real game last season wasn't lost because of us not having a LB, it was due to poor defending overall, silly mistakes and not taking our chances. Then a collective nervousness and a failure to handle the change in momentum.

Enzo Le Fée - 22 - CM/CAM/CDM
French
Lorient - Ligue1

A combatative all round midfielder, equally comfortable playing as an 8, a 6 or a 10.
Would be considerably cheaper than someone like Enzo Fernandez yet just as good/promising

- 4 goals, 3 assists
- 3.3 tackles per game(Rodri most in our team with 2.3)
- 2.4 key passes(only Kev averages more in our team)
- 1.6 dribbles(no-one averages more in our team)
- Only Grealish draws more fouls

St Max from Newcastle apparently up for sale.

Pace and directness. Yes please.
I was at the Saints Newcastle semi final and all they did before he came on was blast long shots over. He came on and completely changed the game. Created a goal, got someone sent off. Stupid for them to sell him. Would I take him here? Maybe he’s not the complete player we often look for but he’s fast and direct. We need that currently

After tomorrow's game we have no games until after the transfer window has closed. I wonder if during those 4 days we're going to pull off a surprise move? Maybe for a LB or a wide forward? A surprise, under-the-radar move like what we did with Akanji. I would not be the lease bit surprised...

I really like the look of Michael Olise & is a player I think would do really well at City.

He's also been to the Guardiola School of Charm & Media, so him & Baldy would get on well with each other... :-)

The way we play is far too safe. We need to gamble more often. I think Ivan Toney would add more goals and improve us that way.
