Michael Hughes, after he left us in 1992 was still playing for Coventry in 2008.
 
Roque Santa Cruz is still going at 43. Given his injuries across his career, never thought he would go this long. He left us 12 years ago! (Technically 14 with the loans).

I used to play CM 99/00 religiously and he was one of the 4 striker options at Bayern along with Paulo Sergio, Carsten Jancker and Giovane Elber. Been playing professional football since 1997.

In his 26th season, actually just incredible!. Or the fact that most of the clubs he has been playing for have been either champions or runners up in their leagues. A healthy respect I had for Pellegrini turned into pure hatred just because of Edin.

Surely the longest survivor of all time was the great Akinfenwa. Is he still playing somewhere?
 
Retired now. He works as a broadcaster and is currently (well, already filmed) on the latest season of ‘Celebrity SAS’.
