Players who were great on CM or FM but not in real life!

Sadly, Valerei Bojinov in most recent times, (co-owed by Fiorentina and Juve and United used buy him guaranteed for £28m unless you cheated and got in there first)
From the mid-90's CM games, Chris Armstrong used to be a world beater, whereas in real life at Palace he was just a good striker.

On the really old ones, like the first one I think it was, there was a player called Mukhadim Mukhadamijev who would guarantee you 30+ a season. I don't know what he was like in real life but I don't recall anyone decent buying him!

I actually saw Nii Lamptey play for the Villa a couple of times, and remember him being distinctly average. Ron Atkinson said he could be the new Dwight Yorke!

I started playing the original CM on the old Commodore Amiga when you needed to fill the scores in for the codes to start a new game. I remember taking Luton close to the title but just being pipped, and qualifying them for the UEFA Cup. Paul Telfer was quite a player if I recall correctly, and Joey Beauchamp from West Ham was a good signing.

Later, when Eidos started making it, I always used to sign Gareth Jelleyman and Mathew Etherington from Peterborough, and later Simon Davies from Posh was in my title winning City side, spearheaded by Joe Healy who I brought in from a Belgian side. Bizarrely, I took Belgium to the World Cup semi-finals with the likes of Toni Brogno and Gataen Engelbert.

Am I the only one who used to nip downstairs to make a brew and do a pre-match press conference while the kettle was boiling?

Anyone remember champ man 95 Mark Collis from Cambridge was a goal machine turns out he was the editor of the game

There was another feller, too, though his name escapes me. I think he was the designer or something.

EDIT: It was Paul and Mark Collyer. They were the people behind Eidos who produced the game. Isn't Wikipedia great.

Mariano Gonzalez
Leon Andreassen
Rafael Sobis
Anatoly Todorov
Theo Walcott
Tomas Sivoc
Romaric
Michael Owen (I sold him for 100M to Chelski from NUFC, FM06)

On an old version of FM, I had Matty Fryatt at City who would score about 20 goals a season and was also in the England team!

Ibrahim Babayaro - not sure on the spelling, class on CM but gash at Everton.
I think you mean Ibrahima Bakayoko in cm98 i think

Sherman Cardenas FM 2007 - You could get him for free from some Colombian team and he became best midfielder on the game.

Nade the one who played for Sheff Utd on FM 2007 was shit in real life, rated shit in the game yet for some reason he ALWAYS was one of the top scorers in the game.
