Player's winter attire

It's about time we had a City branded buff. Seen loads of Barca ones in the shops. Great for hiking this time of year.

If you're fingers are freezing cold, you know it, and you're probably thinking about your fingers, not about what you're supposed to be doing, does the OP think that wearing the blue under gear, under their short sleeve shirts is wrong as well ?

I'd get back to worrying about whether we play a midfield 2 of Yaya and Fernando, or if Demichelis is still good enough for this level, these are real issues.

Sitting in Dallas watching the game with @Vienna_70 him and the missus were counting the players wearing them. I never thought once about this ( except when it's brought up every year ). Off topic but I was really impressed by the positivity also. I read the threads about slagging off our players and how we should cheer them, listening to Vienna saying "well done" to each player as they touched the ball, well, I've never seen anything like it here in Amaerica. We will tun in a player in an instant for a bonehead play, or if they have shown no effort. It was quite enjoyable really.

Totally agree.

I get really fed up of Fred Eyre mentioning it every away match on radio manchester, miserable bugger (he may be a blue but he's still a miserable bugger, he should never work for the samaritans phone line heh). According to him they're all softies. Really bugs me.

I only see this in football forums. What does it matter whether an athlete wears gloves or snoods? I've never once been concerned that a cold athlete wants to stay warm.

Don't if it's just me, or whether it's been a point of note previously, but players wearing gloves really does my head in. Surely if you're giving 100% and running around a football pitch as a professional athlete, you don't need gloves to keep you warm?! Don't get me started on snoods, which were rightly outlawed.

I just think it sends out all the wrong signals. Pre kick off against Liverpool, I remember watching the players line up, with not one Liverpool player wearing a pair, and thinking they instantly looked more up for it. I think it also in some respect reflects on the coaches mentality.

I appreciate it's a football wide thing, and not a dig at city players in particular. Ultimately I just think they all need to grow a pair.

Grow a pair of gloves?

When we used to have hard pitches keepers would wear tracksuit bottoms, but with pitches now soft even during winter something you don't see much any more.

can we get a godzilla facepalm?
Prefer this one

Why the long sleeve under the shirt? If you are cold, get a long sleeve shirt! I never wear a vest unless I am only wearing the vest. (usually concert bound and ends up coming off anyway) Layers are for pussies. Gloves for a game of footy unless you're in net is also for fucking pussies.

Playing with gloves does not make you perform worse, neither does it make you perform better. Being comfortable however strangely enough can effect mentality. So if a player player is comfortable with or without gloves it doesn't matter.
