Player's you like but....

Do you guys not rate Rooney?

Yeah, he's a granny shagging, cheating prick and everything, but in terms of pure footballing ability, do you not rate him? Genuine question.

I think you might be missing the point mate. You won't get many blues disputing Rooney being a great player but the question was "Players you like playing for clubs you hate". You answered it perfectly yourself by mentioning Kompany - he plays for a club you hate but is actually a likeable person. Rooney isn't in most people's opinion but Giggs and Scholes (when he's not emptying our full back lol) probably are.

If I had to go back a few years I'd have to say it was Denis Irwin for me.

Ach of course, you're spot on there.

Another guy I'd say that fits in this bracket: Malouda

Phil Neville. I've said it before on here and dammit, I'll say it again. I honestly believe he's the antithesis of his brother.

He said recently that his favourite food was soup. Bless him. Soup.

I dont mind Carrick either because he seems to be a decent lad and he regularly under-performs for the rags.

Sky had Phil Neville as a pundit in our recent 5-0 win against Sunderland. Just before I left my house to go to the game I remonstrated to the other half about how it was so wrong for him being on the panel for our game. When I watched it back the following day I was pleasantly surprised to see a complete lack of bitterness in his assessment of our performance. He managed to come across as magnanimous without being totally up our arse.

I was going to say Phil Neville. Played for two terrible clubs but genuinely nice guy who rarely puts in a poor performanced (at club level).

think van der vaart is massively over rated.

erm , dawson

There's not many since I don't hate many teams.

Vidic - Brilliant and doesn't seem to have much affinity for them either
Giggs - Reminds me of a mate of mine. A red but not a twat.
Modric - Class and effort. Bit like Silva in that regard.
Kranjcar - Seems to play well whenever I see him and yet gets left out.
Jagielka - John Terry but not a complete wanker.
Phil Neville - Nice bloke and underrated player

De jong
Johnson
Kompany

Reina

Drogba
Luiz

RVP

Player I like cos of his allround good guy image would be Jimmy Bullard cut down by so many injuries but looked a real talent and played with a smile on his face.
